Ok so i have read a bit so have heard about relic weapons, farming tombstones and Darklight gear.
Thing is i am still learning this game (first MMO) and have no idea were or how to get these.
I see some threads stating that certain areas or fights you need relic weapons and darklight gear but i am totally lost. Currently main class is Level 32 Paladin and main story i started the Sylphs or something like that.
Any advise or help would greatly be appreciated

2. Farm WP for Tomes of Philosophy
3. Gear at least half in DL or until WP is so easy that it can be done while your sleeping.
5. Decide if you want to chase Mythology Tomes
5. You will get your Relic Quests sometime after 50 and do them as you can
#5 will require at least 3 weeks in AK Mythology Tomes for Oil for your Relic -

You'll fight all the primals again after the main story is over yes. And then Crystal tower (not released yet, please look forward to it) and Binding Coil of Bahamut.

Yes we have a ways to go and lots to enjoy. I am just a tiny bit up from you and enjoying it all the way, the dungeons are the hardest for me, as the chance grouping and lack of communication among the duty found teams is a bit daunting but it seems to go ok so far. My fav is the story and the wonderful cut scenes,and the character design is superb...best I have ever seen as is the graphics and design of the entire world, superbly beautiful..but it is a hard working game and I can only imagine how hard Yoshi will work us as we level up.... i still dont have much of a clue what the relics etc are but will research that as i get closer and I am sure the game will explain it, i dont want to be spoiled too much as it is fun to be surprised. Enjoy your journey!
I have studied other MMOs and many of them are uninspired and bascially a struggle to get past the bosses planted at key places that are just out of your reach requiring you to team up with other players all a ploy to get more subscribers...ditto the gear race and the grinding, ie digging for more and more XP and stuff.... this one is different and every part is fun and well designed and quite beuatiful. I am enjoying the crafting for the first time too. -

Make sure you stay up to date (every 5 levels) with your class quests too. I made this mistake and walked into a lvl 49 dungeon at 50 thinking everything was good and the healer gave me a very "spirited" lecture...
at 45 you get 4 pieces of lvl 50 armor (head, legs, feet and gloves I think) and at 50 you get a level 55 chest. Makes a pretty big impact on your character.
Plus, it's all class specific and looks AMAZING! -

So far i only struggled in Tam Tara as i went in with random people and had to tank and DPS, it was not fun.
But with a FC much more enjoyable -

Follow your job/class/storyline quests up to 50 and level up other classes for any useful cross class abilities. Then move on to endgame.

Its slightly out of date because of the changes in tomestone drop amounts which are now higher in a few places.
