Surveying Leves, I have no idea what to do?`

Hey guys so I started leveling Mining and, went to horizon for my first leves at level 10, there's one in particular that I either don't understand or is bugged. It's called "We do This the Hard Way"

The objective is to survey areas marked on the map, there were no mining nodes at the pickaxes on the mini-map for this quest. So I walked to the vicinity of the pickaxe signs and hit Lay of the Land, 1 and 2 nothing happened sat there for 20 minutes trying different abilities and I failed the leve due to time out.

What am I missing on this quest or is it really bugged?

Happened to me yesterday on a different leve for Botany. It is just a bug some times. I retried the same one later yesterday and it showed up like normal.

Just to be sure, did you initiate the levequest?

Yes. What happened at least in my leve was that I was able to farm 7/8 nodes. The last circle had no node marker in the circle unless I use Lay of the Land and even when the nodes showed up on Mini the tree it should be on was blank. So slightly different than OP but probably same bug.

Also, if the OP had not initiated it he would not have ran out of time and failed. Personally I just gave up cause knew it was pointless.

Is that the one that is right next to the bridge south east side of Horizon? If so, I believe, the nodes are at the bottom level. You'll have to jump off the cliff to find them. It got me confused at first too but I figured there must be something else going on.

Yes. It's a bug you occasionally see in surveying leves, and the only thing to do is abandon the leve. I've been hit several times by it myself.

I had a similar problem with a leve near Camp Drybone. I initiated the quest and only 3 of the 4 nodes actually populated..there was a 4th orange circle but no mining pickaxe symbol or mining node anywhere to be found. I have done that same Leve maybe 4 or 5 times and that glitch happened 2 or 3 of those times.

Hearing this I'm glad I kinda ignore doing fieldleves. I just don't like mining/foraging for nothing. Though I will use the fishing ones eventualy, but that's different.

You can also try running way far away from the bugged node and coming back to see if it loads successfully. This worked for me once on a bugged node in a Mor Dhona leve.

Well, not for nothing. You get exp for the actual mining and for turning in the leve, and the payment for completing the leve usually isn't bad. It's kind of relaxing not having to worry about what you'll do with the items you dug up.

Well I'm a crafter too and I like having some of everything for future crafts anyways. So you can kinda see my issue. I'd much rather increase my stocks of materials than just chop ancient coins from trees that I can't even keep. :/

bugged, happened to me when i was leveling, just remind the name of the levemete and dont choose it any more, there is also one in coerthas, its called brother something, that one is bugged too

I thought I had this happen with the same leve until I realized it was actually way at the top of the cliff, forcing me to trek all the way around to get up there. The marker on the map threw me off since it's on the very edge of the orange circle and nowhere near the other 7.

This has frustratingly happened to me on 2 occassions now. Unlike what some others have said, there's no node indicator at all, so it's not just missing the node from a different level. The node simply isn't there. Waste of my time and leves >.<

I like to go for the ones that reward me with a Cordial lol.

As most people have said, it's a pretty common bug. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not. It will probably be fixed eventually.

asked for help support- nothing they can do to help !
