[BRD] Handicapped player. What should I reroll to?

I'm a handicapped player (lost an arm in an accident years ago, forced to play games one-handed) and was an aspiring Bard as they were the only class with that magic combination of being incredibly easy for even me to play, and effective damage-wise. Now that SE screwed them up, I'm really disheartened to continue playing it. Tried LNC and MNK already and they proved too difficult to play compared to BRD (more complicated rotations and having to actually care about boss mechanics/combos/positioning) :(, and SMN has too many buttons in their rotations.

Should I go BLM? Something else?

i think BLM should had been your first option :p

Stick with bard, they will be fine. Don't fan the flames.

Wth are you talking about? Bards arent screwed up. Are you maybe imagining what they might do to us, then claiming they already did it?

Can we please at least wait until we even know what they are planning on doing before people start to abandon bandwagon.

As others have mentioned, you are jumping the gun here. Nowhere can we expect that BRDs playstyle is going to change so much that you cant play it like before, nor would they nerf them to the point that they arent desired anymore, they are just trying to bring them in check.

Just out of curiosity, how are you doing movement and skills at the same time with only one arm?

Playing with one hand is basically the same than playing with 2.

I only use my left hand most of the time, my right hand is on the mouse and kind of useless since I don't mouseclick.
I don't use default hotkeys of course.

The only thing you would lack is the camera movement and I think you could bind camera movement on some keys.

Do you at least have some kind of MMO mouse ?
All your movement can be handled by the left-right press. Middle-click to keep moving.
The hotkey on the mouse make skill trigger much easier. You should be able to double
your skill amount on your mouse by using the weapon draw mecanism.
And the keyboard would only be an extension for least used skill.
Moreover if it is your left hand that's available, just overwrite your numpad configuration
the key switch differs depending on the num-lock state, you will lost the default configuration
(along with the arrow key and the set of 6 key above it) but in you case this might be more interesting.

With this configuration you should avoid playing class who keep moving in circle path (monk)
(maybe if you bind rotation key and focus on you mouse). I cannot really recommend any class
since I only played a SMN. But with some organization you should be able to handle any class.

I'm with the others as far as not giving up on BRD before even knowing what will be done to it. All the same, if you're willing to fate grind a BLM to 50 it couldn't hurt to have another class to switch to. If not just for a change of pace.

I think that while BRD will be weaker than it was, it'll still be okay, particularly since in coil your job is a silence-bot more than anything.

I'm quite curious as to how you have your controls set up for one-handed.

Problem with them changing how the jobs play or Nerfing them as it is called - is not good - if there really is a problem then fix it but dont start changing things because of some whiners that are pissed that one job seems to have more damage then the other you just need to reroll if that is your excuse for not being able to play your job.

Once they start F...cking with the jobs they get more screwed up then they were.

The only BIG issue I see is that when you get a raise you need to be emuned to damage until you can get control of your character and respond to the threat.

Hell I pretty much heal with one hand - even though I have two.

I am probably forgetting something :) But basically do it all with my right hand (Can select party members with function keys, and usually do)

I am with everyone else though stick with bard! :0
