2nd Boss in Qarn Bugged?

So on my first trip through The Sunken Temple of Qarn as a SCH I remember my tank telling me "this boss has no hate chart so becareful" thats fine may be a boss mechanic.

But I just went through Qarn again for the first time since my SCH and this time I went as a Tank. I too repeated those words to my party, first party was fine, second wiped a couple of times.. But a couple of things strike me about this and make me wonder whether its bugged.

1. I have full hate at all times but the boss only rarely follows me when i try to reposition him

2. If it was random aoe's like my friend suggested it might be (like the maiden boss in haukke eg.) then why does he chase people down and punch them?

3. This manic hate only happens after the first heart is broken.. even though i build up new hate on the new heart it never settles.

insight would be appreciated although i have left Qarn again now

im pretty sure it is working as intended that it runs off to throe its tantrum at a random party member until it has has finished its 'rotation' before coming back to you. I have completed qarn a number of times (around 6 to 9) and did this boss for about twice the number as bother healer and tank, and while i do admit it is annoying i think it is only as annoying as how the thunder drake would run off to attack brayflox (who then runs off behind one of your party members) even when you have full enmity.

i simply used the time to reapply stoneskin and stun whrn i had to.

After you broke her heart the first time it will go bash your teammates until you guys kill it.

I have noticed while tanking this boss, that in order for the tank to keep enmity (at least somewhat) to have the tank "tank" the heart. It was something I experimented with in my several runs through there, and I have noticed, tanking the heart is the best way to maintain threat levels on the boss. But it will still go wild and bash your teammates. But to keep it relative to the tank, the heart.

The boss randomly switches targets and headbutts them, doesn't matter if you have hate or not.

Similar to the above statements... After he regains his composure (heart returns), he will ignore the hate list for a period of time. This is intentional, since without it, the fight would be embarrassingly easy, and even with it, it's still the easiest of the 3 boss fights in that dungeon.

Sunken is really really unforgiving. The laser show at the last boss. Why Why isn't Sunken a lvl 50 dungeon instead?

I think the last boss is one of the most interesting and best designed bosses in the game so far :)

Interrupt the obliterate and tell your healer to dps.

As other people have said, its the mechanic of the fight. Healer has to bring their A game to this one, especially if you have other mage classes

ONLY auto attacks go after the tank (which it hardy ever stops to auto attack)

the "Punch" where it chases people, is a special move, not an auto attack. (Its non avoidable, and it stuns)

the boss appearing to run wild happens if the player he targetted for the Stun runs away. tell them to stand still and get stunned. As soon as he stuns, he runs right back over. Provided of course you've been ignoring the body and tanking the heart.
A lot of his AoEs will turn to target random players. Nothing to do with hate, though the Heart resets hate every time it repops.
