Battle system speculations!

Hi Everyone,

As all of you know by now, SE stated in an interview that the battle system will be seeing as much as a 70% overall change. That for sure cannot include only auto-attack. So what else will be there?

Tell us what you think SE is doing to change our broken battle system and or how would YOU change it?

The real info is coming any day and we will see if SE's changes matches the community's expectations.

Before someone else starts thinking this thread is to feed the trolls, you are wrong. It is to see how much SE is in touch with the player's expectations. Do they understand what we want or are they completely missing it? Once SE announces the real changes, we can compare it to what we think it will be or want it to be. It is a good indication if SE is moving the game into the right direction or if they are wasting the time of the people waiting to see the changes they are hoping will turn this game around.

- Get rid of Stamina system

- Make everything faster

- Allow us to engage more than one mob at the same time

- Better skill animation and effect

- Real attributes

- New unique weapons with glowing effect and weapon skills

- New Jobs

- Fighting while riding the chocobo

- Jumping and be able to attack/use skills mid-air

Matsui is supposed to be getting something to us this week which hopefully can clear up some of the mystery surrounding the new battle system. I do hope he gives us a bit of detail about what will be implemented.

The game is getting more and more trolls by the day because SE are adamant to sit on information and people are getting fed up.

SE are the ones feeding the trolls.

I think it will be similar to FFXIII's battle system, minus the ability to change classes on the fly while in battle.

fighting while on Chocobo would be epic.... probably won't see that anytime soon but man that would be just awsome.

please get out. Nothing is forcing you to open this thread, read it or comment. Talking about trolls tho' you're quite good at that so why don't you start your own trolling thread and have fun with other ones like you?

I didn't say that is what I want but that is what I think it will be like. They said in that Chinese interview that they had 8 years experience from FFXI with a battle system and that it would be an evolution of that combined with bits of the current one to make it something unique.

what do i want? alot of things.

what do i expect? auto-attack and slower battles.

I definitely expect slower battles, lower TP generation, but still involved. Honestly I have no idea and don't care much but whatever it is I hope party play is top priority while solo play isn't discarded.

I hope you mean faster combat and longer engaging battles...
And allow us to be effective without the need for using macros all the time. I'm tired of pressing the same key over and over as a THM, hell... let us put our macro's on the main action bar.

Make our nukes stronger so we don't have to be pigeon holed into healing all the time. Casting 2 spells all the time for every battle is kinda boring. Make CON DoT spells stronger and just behind THM's so that they have a use - do that for all spells actually...

no i meant what i said when i said what i expect. i expect with the implementation of auto-attack to slow down the speed the battles have. i did not say that is what i wanted nor hoped for, but they did ask what we expected. any attack that will be done automatically and give enough time to see if someone is casting something else behind it will have a decent delay before acting. this will cause more stand around time and slower fights. that is unless they nerf the mobs even further.
