So I was speaking to my friend the other day, who also plays on ps3 and we got to thinking. It would be much easier for controller/ps3 users if they made the R2+L2 bring up another crossbar. As of right now you can press either R2 or L2 to bring up a set of 8 skills, and I know on the DRG class there is a lot more skills then just 16 I may use in a fight. Espesially when pvp comes around. So with all 16 filled out in the first cross bar if I want to switch to a different set of skills I need to press R1 so it will flip the board to a new set of skills. Which can cause a lot of issues and typically just slows you down. It would be much better if I could just press R2+L2 together to bring up another set of 8. Having 24 skills that I can quickly get to would work so much better then having 16 then having to try and flip to another cross bar and then flip back to my main one. Sorry if I didn't word that right I'm here at work on a support call, and chat, and also on the forums.

You know you can use R1+square/triangle/cross/circle for faster flipping right? I personally have never felt like I needed more than 2 bars for Monks or Warriors. You get 22 skills on a job with 5 cross-class it's total of 27, still less than 32.

Its not a perfect solution but i did what someone suggested and made it so I manually bring out and put my weapon away.
Then you select what crossbars you want to have open between those 2 options -

Yeah L2 + R2 should bring up another crossbar.
I don't think there's any way to have enough buttons with instant accessibility without adding this option.
You just miss out on too much usable stuff when compared to using a KB/M. Despite the fact that the game plays fantastic with a gamepad.
I don't see any reason why they wouldn't do this. It's so much faster than the r1 switching, which tacks on about an additional second no matter which way you do it (tap it or hold w/ another button). -

Well for me all my main offensive skills are on my first 16 set cross bar so 1, and then all my defensive skills are on my next set of 16 so 2. Then my set 3 is just like mounts and tele stuff like that. What I am say any yes I know you can press R1+ square and all that. BUT it would make it much smoother and easier if you could just press R2+L2 since they are not mapped to anything anyway to pull up another set of 8 skills without having to flip your skill sets. Think about it the reason a keyboard is much better for one is they don't have to flip to anything its all right there, and if not they can quickly get to the skill with their mouse. As for us we may need to flip the bar to another set of skills use the skill then quickly flip back to go back to your main rotation.

This is going the slow down and create a lot of issues come pvp when defensive skills and offensive are really going to be used a lot more. It would be a much easier transition to use a skill from my R2 then press R2+L2 use my defensive skill and press R2 again., but this is just my opinion.

Since I started using a gamepad at level 1, as a CNJ, I put all my heals on a cross-bar (R1+O) and all my offensive stuff on another cross-bar (R1+X). By forcing yourself to memorize where your skills are quickly and practicing, you'll become a lot more efficient, especially considering how long you have between cooldowns. Instead of 24 skills readily available with the shoulder buttons, you have 128 available (holding R1+any face/direction button for a new cross-bar).
It's Monster Hunter-esque if you ask me, and I won't tell anyone how they SHOULD be playing, but cycling through skills is the wrong way to go. If I were to ask for an inferior way to play, I'd at least ask that they allow the L1 button to cycle in reverse.
I also play on a PC, by the way. I do prefer the gamepad over k/m. -

They are already planning to add a third crossbar for L2 + R2, FYI.
I think the main issue they were having was getting it working for PS3 cause it has less screen real estate. -

Your missing the point because you are constintly flipping, and yes press R1+O and R1+X is flipping your skill set and is a lot slower. Then if you would just have to press R2+L2 together espesially with the way they have it set up to where it can be toggled or go back down when you let go off R2 or L2 key.

How about have the Dpad loop thru all bars? You have 3 or 4 bars 1 under the other Dpad right you move to the next skill Dpad left you move back when you get to the last skill on the right it loops back to the first one on the left. Dpad Down you move to the bar below then ones you get to the last bar on the bottom Dpad Down again will loop back the bar on the top? I hope I make sense you guy can picture what I'm trying to say.
