Game not fully closing on Exit

Since the patch my game window remains open after closing (PC W7 pro) and has to be terminated in task manager.

running full screen . black screen active after exiting game.
This happens every time I exit/log off

Same happened to me twice yesterday, but exited fine this morning. I'm also using windows 7, except full screen windowed.

Happened to me after this patch too. Twice infact and both occasions were when i got this new 9000 error then came the black screen and it remained like that until i had to force end the program.

Add one more with the same problem. Happened twice now since patch. Running Win7.

Chalk up another to this bug. Only I've manually had to go into the Processes tab and force close FFXI:ARR. Otherwise the black screen just stays there.

Also have this issue.

Windows Vista 64 bit running full screen windowed (because the mouse issue still isnt fixed)

So far in 4 sessions, had to end task 4 times since the patch.

happened to me for the first time too, after the latest patch.
BSOD right after logging out, still on black screen before my desktop shown up.
Using Windows 7 64bit.

did you guys tun on the "error report" of windows? that that force closes an unresponding program and give you a dialog with "there was a problem with, it has to be close, do you want to blablala" ?

I had this happen once since update, first going black and than that dialog popped up

I am experiencing this same issues on Win 7 x64, playing fullscreen

yea the dialog never popped up for me. actually let it sit for near 5 minutes once ,before i forced close

Happening for me Windows 8 64bit.

Same thing happening to me. I can not exit the game properly. Every time I exit, the game never fully closes and I am forced to use task manager to close the game.

Same thing happened to me yesterday and I'm playing on PS3. Had to reset the system to get out of it.

Same thing with me and also the first connection lost with server since the mad rush a month ago.

Edit: Windows 7 64 bit

Same issue. Win7 Pro 64 bit. No dialog. Had to use Task Manager to kill the program.

bump, got same problem when choosing to exit game at inn room bed
running game on Windows 8 64bit, only started to happen after the patch
