Ive noticed it alternates between the different weathers every in game day.
I can go hours w/o seeing the sun in most areas, due to this.
I think I've had 1 single screen shot of the zone, where you can see the sun, and the moment I clicked print screen, the sun went away to cloudy weather.
Other than that 1 time, I've yet to see the sun again in that zone, despite how pretty it can be.
Funny, whenever I go to Costa, it's always raining. And I always think to myself "and this is supposed to be a sunny beach?" x'D And it's pretty much always a thunderstorm in Black Shroud or fog in Thanalan. The rare occasions that the weather is clear, I spend the time with my camera angled towards the sky.
It's always raining when I'm there too! Its especially funny when you have NPC's in bikini's dancing in thunderstorms...
Same here - always raining in Costa. It's often dark too.
I had to wait a few ingame days for it to rain. If you don't already know, weather changes are every 8 hours eorzea time (0:00 midnight, 8:00 AM, 4:00 PM). The icon won't change until around #:03 but you'll see the sky alter.
Incidentally day and night are 12 hour periods from 6 to 6.
I like how it never rains in costa del sol but always rains in drybone.
Do you need it to rain for some reason? Is a theory or hunch?
I often do little extra fun things to make the game more enjoyable for myself. I am trying to get a little "photoshoot" of my character at the beach, but it won't stop being flipping cloudy! Clear up and let the sun shine!
Sorry for hopping in but I have a generally to Weather related question. There are objectives where it needs to rain. I noticed there are 2 types of rain descriptions: rainy and downpour (not sure if it is called like this in English, it is heavy rain). Are both good when you need rainy weather or only the "rainy" one?
For almost all practical purposes that I have seen, Rain and Downpour are the same for fishing conditions. Same with Clear and Fair, Cloudy and Foggy, Thunder and Thunderstorm.
Thanks, backed up with personal experience now. The fish I was looking for had rainy as condition but downpour worked as well. Nothing worse than fishing for an hour and finding out afterwards that you did not even meet the requirements to get it lol.
Snow also counts as rain.
Makes sense. Eeeh wait. Good to know tho.
There is a difference when it comes to the sightseeing log.
For example #18 in Drybone needs rain, but every time I go there and it looks like its raining I check the icon and its showers which doesn't count :(
