Error 2002
Been playing without any issues before this update happened. After I downloaded it today when I try to connect I get a Gray start button and then shortly after error code 2002 on PC. If it matters, I have 2 ps3's which I am able to log in fine only having issues on PC. I've done port forwarding, as well as disabling my firewall. Even managed to speak to the same SE rep twice but still getting the same error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Whatever they did, they messed up something. I was messing around with my Anti-virus Firewall and it seems to stem from that. I've got Bitdefender and this game, for some reason, doesn't seem compatible.
I turn off the firewall, and I can log in and can see everything, but when I turn it on, my Received goes to 0 and I get the 2002 error.
For a bitdefender solution, I went into the application rules in the firewall, highlighted the programs and Removed Rules.
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot
It's possible that the idea of excluding this game and all it's components from your firewall may help with the 2002 problem. BUT I can't guarantee that it'll work. All I know is, it was working fine before and after update PLEH.

Well I actually have bitdefender as well as my Anti virus, gonna try it now and see what happens.

Ok, just to give ya an update Genjuro, was able to get in with bitdefender. In the application rules I had accidentally hit reset all and it now works with the firewall on. However I'm not to clear on what the rules are all for so I hope I didn't delete something that I needed :/. But the games running well so I will hope that there was no rule there that I needed.

I tried this and I still have the 2002 error

Yeah Im getting the error 2002 and when i dont get that i get through the start menu and to character selection and either it wont find the NA/EU servers or the JP servers. If it finds the NA/EU servers then i click my character and it goes to the loading screen, then i get error 90000 and it goes back to the start menu..... and then gives me 2002. They said they fix it and they didnt, for shame Square Enix, for shame.

iam having the same problem and i cant enter the game at all for 1 hour...

I have been having the exact same problem for the past 4 days as Laoch described. I chatted with an SE rep today and he said to port-forward and blame my internet provider. I wouldn't have a problem blaming my internet provider if this had happened before. But this is literally the first time that these shenanigans have happened to me.
Let me know if you have any luck getting in Laoch

Same problem. Had a network engineer look at things my end and saw no issue. I still get the error when all firewalls/antivirus software are turned off.
Oh and my husband is on the same net connection as me and has no issues. We have even swopped ethernets and router ports.

I was directed here by a mod. He/she said there would be a solution here. There isn't. I can't log in still.
-
Mod shutdown another topic and redirected here. Still no solutions, 50 days later.

My bf is having this same exact problem. ; ;

I also have this problem.
I logged out for a minute and when I tried to log back in it kept on giving me this error.
Edit: After restarting the pc it doesn't give me the error... Not sure how is that related...

Same problem 2002. Was fine before maintenance and now the start button stays grayed out and eventually gives me the lobby connection error.
Tried turning off all antivirus and firewalls, restarted, didnt work.

For me everything has been smooth since the 12/11/13 patch. I had trouble logging on last night. Whenever I get in-game about 5-10 minutes I would be kicked out with an error 9000. And now I am getting 2002's consistently with the start button grayed out. I just started the game this weekend and I must say this isn't the best first impression as a new player. :/

Agreed. I havent had any issues with WoW in years. And i can still to this day log in no problem. This was my test run of FFXIV and after checking every couple of hours for the last 24 hours.. no improvement, and no suggestions of what i can do myself to fix it. Doesnt bode well indeed.
I wish they would tell us what the errors actually are instead of just 'the LOBBY server (of all things) connection encountered a problem.'

I no longer have 2002 disease ^^
