Just ran WP today and made like 3K gil, which was very nice. Should add up quick and really help me out with TP costs and getting base materials for crafting so I don't have to keep mining junk so i can craft junk.

Well, even if they double, there's so many materials sitting at 10-30gil each. As a gsm/miner I am finding it is easier to mine ore and shards so i can make ingots to sell jut to get 5-10K profit. Now that I am raking in dungeon money I can afford to buy the ingots/shards directly and make the accessories people like to buy for more money.

I think it's strange because crafting is like it's own part of the game in a sense. The only real reason DoW and DoM classes need crafters is for melding and even then with some of the end game gear that people choose over crafted they barely use that. The economy we have is basically people leveling crafting for fun and trading amongst each other. Which means adding more gil into the economy will cause inflation without an extra gil sink. I'm not sure how this is going to work.
Now less ppl do craft and go do instances, leaving me open to do business, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm up 12,000 Gil after 4 AK runs. Really nice to be in the plus after endgame for once!
I think it's a good thing. Finally allows me to stop worrying about repair costs, a necessary evil, and focus on actually using my money for frivolities like HQ rings at levels lower than 50. Maybe now I'll teleport to places not listed on my Favorite list too. Really though, one of my favorite things to do in FFXI was just sit around farming certain enemies over and over again- mindless and I can watch a movie while doing so. So, hey, high five, SE. Looking forward to trying the update in action once my client finally updates.

The only thing worse than hyper-inflation is deflation. A healthy economy will always run on some level of inflation.
If anything, I'd think the prices for things would go DOWN now that crafters can actually run dungeons and have money to buy their own mats instead of using the profit from their sales.
Either way it's not going to be a game breaker. Surprised so many people are already saying the sky is falling. You all also forget that crafts aren't needed in this game. Prices go up...people will just rely on their dungeon drops...which are better anyway.
I'm just happy that now my dungeon runs pay for themselves when it comes to repairs. I was on a negative slope before this update since I don't craft.
Why do any of you care if there are more gil fountains? Inflation? No one wants to buy crafted shit in the first place besides food.
It really isn't. 4 AK runs lowballed to 10k, cap for 300 myth tomes has you running this 8 times. 20K profit minus repair cost 3K. So now every consumable crafter or even crafts in general will know you have at minimum 17K per week. Hell, even DoW/M will know how much they have in a week. And the market will follow according. I expect materia from soul binding to rise in price, gear for soulbind increase in price, melds will start being charged instead of tipped. Foods will start to rise. So sure you can get in more teleports now, and quadruple your repair from dungeons, but everything that has a price dictated by a player is going to jump. Then you will be in the same if not worse position.
