Crysta or Click and Buy?

so i decided to open my collector's edition just now and am currently installing lol. i have registered my copy of the game in my account management and registered my security token. since the game is free to play still, do i have to even choose a payment method yet? and there are two methods crysta and click and buy? which one is better to use etc? i am confused on them, why isn't there just an "enter credit card info" and be done as simple as that? how much crysta = 1month sub, 3 month sub etc etc?

I used click and buy but I when my sister set her account up with my buddy code she didn't put anything in as it was free then, so you might be able to skip it.

I used Crysta but you never get charged anything so don't sweat it. So did you end up picked a server? Offer still stands from me, Wutai, Diplomats LS

i use click and buy, but the whole method would have been alot easier if they allowed the na audience the same option they offered the european players in being able to use paypal since most people that shop on the net that i know use paypal.

still deciding actually. it's between Lindblum, Besaid or Wutai. how is your linkshell doing? and are you wanting to do endgame in the long run whenever it releases?

I hear click and buy is sketchy.
I figured I'd just use my PayPal account to buy Crysta.

We have been doing current End Game for months, Besaid is known as the RP server so if that is your thing go there. Current End game isn't much just NMs and we have had them on farm for a long time now. As soon as more content comes out we will be on top of it. We have people on pretty much at all times doing stuff, leveling up other classes so finding a group for stuff isn't too hard, plus Ill hook you up when I am on. If you choose Wutai and you want to start tonight let me know.

Honestly if your region can do it, instead of using click and buy or CC just say to use crysta. Then use the ultimate pay card WHEN this gets a fee. he way I did it was hassle free, but my region allows ultimate game pay cards.

nah you are the only one that gave me an offer, lol. i was just going by server population, since some said Lindblum is very populated. Until they begin charging for the game, you don't even need to have payment info set up.

FFXIV need there own time card if they want to sell good in NA most players quit ffxiv because they could not find out how to set up ffxiv to log in lol.

and i agree you should not take 10-15 step just to log in to a game -.-

Click and Buy's Terms of Service and hidden fees are dreadful. The support is slow and even slower if you're not from the UK.

okay after getting everything ready on account management i am finally online atm, just saw the opening cutscene in Uldah. Took me forever to find a character name not taken as it happens to me in every damn MMO i play!! Lol.....anyway, my name is Sasuke Akatsuki

Not really the card you can use, also can be used for other games and it is much easier to find in stores. Also with the way I set up my accound it took me 2 steps. Ofc my region can use the Ultimate game card. Which is the option I picked. And it was easy to set up.

yea i deleted my toon. didn't like how he looked to be honest lol. did make a toon real quick on Lind to check it out real quick, but deleted my toon there also......i'm currently remaking my toon in Wutai right now.

You should keep the Akatsuki last name but change the first name (just a pet peeve of mine) lol
Be creative and make your own name

I have a friend in Aruba who was having some issues with ClickAndBuy, i believe it had to do with inaccurate currency exchange. Tries the Crysta method and it worked fine.

lol. i was trying to create a name for like an hr last night. that's the first thing that finally worked and wasn't taken

Well in that case sh!t happens. haha, Was just saying in general if you could come up with abit more original would be awesome but I won't die from it if you don't lol, your character you do what you want haha. I will get over it lol.

I'm not on now I will be on in a in a couple hours, I have to excercise and watch a show before I get on, but I will get on in 2-3 hours to show you the ropes, start in Uldah I recommend, unless you just like another city. Anyone you see in Diplomats you can talk to about getting a shell, just tell them I got you to join the server. Green Crest with White slant strip in the middle, [/\] Bad representation but you get the jist of it.

And to be on topic... I really DO wish SE just had set up the payment method for this game the same as how FFXI was... Just enter your freakin CC info, the end.
I picked the very suspicious sounding "click n' buy" when I first started simply because you'll always have extra crysta using that method. Now, however, I'll probably switch it if I'm still around when SE starts to charge for XIV. The CC I originally used for "click & buy" expired >:3 so they can't charge me anything anyway. Nya sneaky hidden fee hookers! Gotcha!

As for payment method, i just chose Crysta, i didn't even have to enter any of my CC info at all. We'll see what happens when they start charging though. I am not too sure about Click and Buy, it seems people don't really feel comfortable with them.

To Dargoth. I am still using the same name and everything, lol. When it comes down to almost an hr of trying to land on a name that is not taken, the first one that lands, i usually keep. Happens in every damn MMO i have played/tried. lol. Wasn't to much of a fan on how SE decided to have surnames but w/e. I will probably be on again later tonight, I am going to guess around 11pm est at the earliest since i won't be home for a bit. I added you to my friends. See you in game!!

Naming your account is the most pain in the @$$ part, I name myself zenaku yamada only reason becuase Zenshiro was taken by my beta account. When i added my real code from release it ask me if i want to link my beta account i put no. So my beta name is taken a slot in the names for selbina ; ;i can name myself zenshiro but i have to come up with a new last name which i like my last name. So i just use Zenaku which stand for Light-Dark i was going to use Yoshiro but someone had it so i just had to change it again.

I don't know how everything is taken when more then one person can have your first name like they can be 50000 Zenshiro but the last name have to be different or they can be 500000 last name with yamada but the first name have to be diff. So pretty much you picking name that everyone have the same first and last name which that very odd o.o

Back on topic: i hoping for a better payment from SE before this goes P2P
