Am I the only one who..

.. Misses the old FFXIV 1.0 music? Whenever I'm in Ul'dah I think back to the old theme and how it would feel like coming home.. Such nostalgia.. There's nothing wrong per se with the new music but.. I just miss the old..

Strange. The music got bashed at his times too because, aside some exceptions, was uninspired and out of place. Now it seems was the best soundtrack ever. Meh...

You certainly are not. The music is fantastic. I NEED a 1.0 Music toggle.

I agree the music in 1.0 was really nice and have a nice melody to it. I love visiting many zone in 1.0 due to the music.

1.0 music please D= This new stuff just doesn't cut it, mind you I like Revnant's toll =p but.. oh I do miss Lower Thanalan(Twilight over Thanalan),Battle theme , Ul'dah, Limsa, lower la noscea,Battle theme(Nail of the heaven?), Gridania, Pretty much all the Leve music, um... Tam Tara original music, with the matching battle xD

I get the whole "New world new music" thing, but c'mon give us a 1.0 option D=

Since I associate the music with the game I hate the music with a passion. Just like good games can inspire nostalgia with their music I think 1.0 did the opposite for me and I hate all the music from 1.0 with the exception of garuda/king moogle themes.

That is a rather illogical way of thinking. Video game designers and music composers are two different things. A lot of horrible games have great soundtracks. It'd be like hating Lalafells because they were in 1.0.

I think 2.0's music in some places really is more fitting.
Yet some of the reused tracks from 1.0 are really really fitting in ARR, such as some boss music and the final job quest.

What I really want is; Dual Layered Music Tracks

[ Out of Combat Theme]
[ In Combat Theme]

In 1.0, dungeons for example did this where two tracks played in and or out of combat, which was nice for some areas. I dont believe in having it in every area though (dungeons/raids, yes).

For areas, some of the tracks are too short, some are 'just right' as SOKENs team agreed on not having a constantly repeating track. For the most part, i'd think having it limited to 30-40 second music clips is kinda crap, then running in silence for the next 5-10 minutes.

Holding onto the past will cloud your judgement and to be honest it's annoying to see "I miss this and that from 1.0". Thing must change to stay fresh, do you really think GTA would be as popular as it is if it stayed how it was in #1?
Idk it's just annoying, just listen to the songs on YouTube, I honestly don't want them back.. At all.

I so very much miss the awesome in/out of combat seamless flow of the thousand maws of totorak sound track. That music always got my blood going and I was ready to face the largest of dire mites! Bring em on!

I never played 1.0, but I agree that the old Ul'dah music was better.

I don't see how having the same music or allowing people to use that music is "holding onto the past". GTA is popular because halfwits think running around stealing cars and beating the crap out of people is fun. I much preferred the older games.

It is not a way of thinking it is a feeling and it is certainly not the same thing. Do you ever get nostalgic when hearing music? I do, and for some reason when hearing 1.0 music rather than getting nostalgic and getting good feelings I get the opposite. The music in itself might be good, I might have liked it if I just listened to it without playing 1.0, but as is I associate it with 1.0 and it gives me bad feelings and as such I don't want to listen to that music. I am very happy they have changed most of the music.

I will be very sad if they change the starlight celebration music from 1.0, it was perfect.

Yes, indeed. You are not a lone, I myself miss a lot of the 1.0 music :(
