Are you running out of space?
Or may be a faulty HDD. Can see if this happens with any other game and make a backup just to be safe o.o
-
This reeks of failing HDD.
Very very common in the SLIM ps3's (crappy toshiba drives are used)
-
happened again. its happening everytime i log in. tho its not happening 2 any other game

k now not only am i loosing my config data everytime but since this started the other night ive been getting 90k'd every fe hours. i havnt been 90k'd since beta phase 4. im concerned this has something more 2 it then my ps3. like my character data. is there anyway 2 find out or get help. and on a side note is the HDD replaceable
-
Yes, PS3 hdd's are replacable, there are many backup guides online.

well i copied my save files 2 my online storage but still no fix

Simillar issue
Was playing on PS3 last night, dying characters clothing, and the system froze up on me. Only way to exit was to turn off using button on system. Tried to log in an hour or so later, and got the message "Unable to create character config data." Looked through help topics and tried the suggestions (System is up to date, internet connection is fine, reinstalled game, hard drive space is sufficient). Tried to log in again 8 hours later, same issue.

run a database rebuild from the ps3 service mode.
-
yep it seems were screwed. ive been resetting my config data everytime i logged in since. a database rebuild would erase all our saved data wouldnt it? i mean resetting my config data is annoying but not worth deleting all my save files

It's really weird.
I know these will sound strange but you may never know.
Is your PS3 clock showing the correct time? (the game may be doing a check or something)
If not, did you try setting the system language to english? (some games have/had some bugs based on system language)

I assume the locally stored config data is corrupted. The solution is to manually delete the file.
In the XMB go to game
> Saved Data Utility (PS3™)
>> Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
>>>Delete the file(s) associated with your character (if it properly appears).
Now startup the FFXIV Launcher and login.
Is it fixed?

if i do that in the best case scenario it will obviously say the same thing when i log in. tho after i reset everything ( hotbars, gear sets hud display exc. ) n log out it should save it n i wont have the problem. Tho i know my characters on the server but im a little paranoid. do i just delete the config data file? since my character is on the server nothing i delete on my ps3 should change anything right? (lvl or character)
-
WOOOHOOO!!!! it worked. i deleted the file with my character name on it, logged in, set a few gear sets n logged out. when i logged back in there was no config message n my character had everything i set. to think it was so simple lol. tho usually when a file becomes corrupt the picture changes to grey n says its corrupt. But you solved it and i cant thank u all enough. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR STICKING WITH ME and HELPING ME FIGURE THIS OUT!!!! :D I hope this thread helps anyone else who is experiencing this problem
