Excalibur and Hyperion are already so crowded that I don't think many players will be able to transfer in. Originally I wanted 5 of my non-legacy friends to transfer to Excalibur, but now that the server is so crowded, I will be transferring off Excalibur to another legacy server (Sargantas/Balmung), which I suspect are also somewhat crowded.
I don't think SE realizes how many non-legacy players want to move to legacy servers to play with their legacy friends. I'm not saying to let legacy players transfer to new servers, just give us at least one new NA legacy server so we can spread out and avoid server congestion, world full, and their new area player limit.
We need new NA legacy server(s)!

I agree. There are 19 none legacy and 4 legacy.
For an example, if there are 20 RL friends who had to spread out at the start and 1 happened to be on legacy server, all 20 of them need to move to a legacy server in order for them to be together.
We're all hyped about getting together next week only to have S-E tell you "the server is too full". >< -

The only reason why Legacy servers are a big deal now would be the assumption that the majority of legacy players are still rolling in a hefty chunk of gil from their 1.0 days. Other than that I would personally like to go to a smaller server but at this juncture legacy members aren't allowed to transfer to non-legacy. Which is a super lame thing even if I do understand why we can't.

I think in general its just a little aggravating. We do need at least 1 more legacy server. While world transfers are going to be in a few days, how many of legacy players friends are actually going to be able to transfer to us since we can't to them (if they are on a non-legacy server.) It's almost like its meant to fail. And i am finding it lonely that i have been playing 2 months by myself waiting for people and now I am facing a pretty definite realization that they probably wont be able to come on my server period. (like i am sure many people here are) /sigh. I understand RMT's need to be dealt with. And for all I know, they might even take up 10% of the server by now! They seem to just multiply! And this is also going to impact the amount of available slots that are going to be open for actual players. Idk what SE is going to do. I think we are just at a loss, even if they decide to massively ban all confirmed RMT's.

While I understand they reduced everyone's gil by 90%. People still came in with a lot of money in the legacy servers as I'm sure you've seen. Which is why their concern is that 10 people with 10 million gil each come into the server. They can pretty much buy up most of the market and then resell for whatever they want. Unless they capped the amount of gil people transferred with to like 2 million.
That's the logic that I seemed to get from their statement. But I could be wrong, I'm not a mind reader. But if I was....
But I agree. At this point let us transfer because being a legacy player at least for me isn't anything special. I had a level 23 character and like 1 million gil. -

The cap is 3 million on a character and 1 million each retainer. 5 million gil per transferred character, assuming that those people have that much(I certainly don't).

I agree that SE needs to add or split Legacy worlds in order to make room for all friends who want to transfer over. I mean, the purpose of this is to undo the mess caused by being blocked from getting on a particular world. SE doesn't need to be telling people, "Sorry, you're still blocked." I hope it goes smoothly, and that people don't freak out when a world splits in two. But honestly, I can't convince myself that it will go smoothly.
They also reduced prices and income sources by 90%, too. v1 economy started with all prices 10x inflated, and at the end they 1/10 redenominated it. Now one ARR gil buys what ten v1 gil bought. Nobody lost anything.Quote:

A thread on another forum talked about MB prices on Legacy worlds being 3x-5x more than on new worlds. (The specific item was potash.) I agree SE isn't giving us good reasons, because they're not giving us any reasons. But that doesn't mean there aren't reasons or good reasons to keep legacy worlds isolated at this point, be it economy size, RMT proliferation, goobbue envy, or whatever.Quote:

While we still have the buying power we had before, he seemed to be talking about the sheer amount. I don't think too awful many people came into ARR with 10 million gil, but I wasn't a DoH in 1.0 so I wouldn't know.
the free company point is more than about friendships. They lose any company progress also(I have never been in a free company so I'm not sure how fast progression is to make up).
there were interesting solutions in another thread regarding differences in server prices. I don't know how feasible it is, but one was making everything transferred with a character become bound on transfer so that would prevent(and borderline punish) people taking cheap items to a server where they are expensive.
My problem with the reason given is redundancy. In what way does not allowing legacy characters to transfer to new worlds impact the economy that the hard cap on gil transferable not already do? Without giving an answer to that their currently supplied reason is terrible.
