Do like everyone else.
Run cotton to Flax, flax to cap.
Gather your own.
Or wait and see if they take Dew and Fleece away from the RMT bots.
I was getting a couple hundred diremite webs each hour by doing the leves in Quarrymill.
I think it's ridiculous that anyone BUYS materials when they're there for free.
Leves are limited you know, and time is money friend. easy concept isnt it ?
You would think so, but obviously you're doing it wrong if you aren't profiting while building up your craft.
It don't take but 15 minutes to gather around 100 pieces of materials from gathering nodes. When it comes to farming mats from mobs, you can use time in dungeon queues to do that. Either way, there are always ways to maximize time vs profit.
I've took GSM to 50, and am currently working on 3 crafts all while building profit and not spending a dime (that wasn't invested into a positive return). WVR being one of them.
It would be much easier without dealing with farm bots.
I farmed two stacks of diremite from west of Fallgourd Float to level my weaver up to linen and had very little competition. There was a bot there the first time I tried it and gave up but after that it was fairly easy - a stack of 99 in about 1.5 hrs the first time and considerably less the second time not including HQ drops. The diremite sinew comes in handy also. This is on Cerberus and maybe I was lucky I don't know.
i just crafted dyes from 30-40 lol. you have to try and get the quality up on it or it really wont be worth it. it makes about 4k xp each and it only costs 1 wind and fire crystal and 1 pigment of your choice.
if you have a miner you can farm those mats
It's definitely possible to get around diremite web and even fleece. At least if you have botanist leveled. I didn't spend a single Gil on my weaver. But yes having carpenter on 50 too now I agree that weaver is not as easy to level up. SE should really add more mobs for web and fleece. But again nothing levels as fast as DoH jobs so guess it's fine.
Do any Fishing Leves have the Triple Leve function? IE - hand in more of the item, get the option to repeat it, and get the option to repeat it once more? IF so, then that might just be the fastest leveling class out there. I know that if you are comparing classes without leves, it is .. I just don't know about with leves.
That's precisely what they're doing with the upcoming hotfix on Oct 15th. :p
I'll also admit that Weaver kind of sucked. But that might be because I had gotten spoiled by Alchemy. It's quite strange going from turning in 5 potions (which are crafted in bulks of 3 at that) from crafting 9 Dew Thread, 9 Undyed Velveteen, 36 Linen Yarn, 9 Undyed Linen and then finally 9 Linen Deerstalkers from 40 to 50. <_<
Flax was at least cheap enough that I could break even if I got a decent amount of HQ items to turn in for leves. The actual money sink came with the last set of Weaving quests requiring tons of Fleece to get done. :(
I chose to spend gil to save time and leves allowance for my other crafting class (Planning to level all crafting class as soon as possible, that's why).
Here's what I always have in my mind each time I spend gil to buy crafting mats from Market Board, "I can always do a couple of CM runs to get back all what I spent". :)
Edit:
I spent around 500k gil from 1-50 on my WVR (Including Shards, literally everything). Took me only 2 days to level it.
Power Leveling like you are apparently doing is always expensive.
I power leveled Weaver 30-50 yesterday doing leves handing in HQ items, It only cost like 250,000-300,000. 300,000 isn't alot on a legacy server so there are more money fountains and people willing to pay more for stuff than non legacy.
Agreed. Quarymill route was efficient and made a decent profit with the higher demand for Velveteen. Not sure that'll be the case after the most recent patch (hadn't had a chance to try farming Diremite Web), but at the cost of a few Leves, picking up several stacks of Diremite Web was well worth it.
The real killer about leveling weaver is the amount of lightning shards you're going to need.
Yes. FSH triple-turn-in leves are Sincerity leves.
I had leveled botany first, and went for the luminary achievements, so I was drowning in lightning shards and flax. If you're an achievement hunter, doing your DoL's first will put you in a safer/cheaper position. Linen turn-ins slow down and crafting flax into yarn into cloth into pants is annoying as hell, but you need nearly a whole stack of fleece per woolen triple turn-in leve, and there's just as many small steps. You either pay a lot or you farm a lot.
