Free Company leader has been inactive and wondering how to change leadership.

Hello our free company leader has been inactive for over a week and many members are starting to leave but sadly do not have the ability to clear those who have not played for 14+ days and do not have the ability to change who can do what and its causing issues as I'm the only one able to activate company abilities. So I'm asking if there is a way that I can change leadership to myself so that I can become the leader of this free company?

I cannot recall where I heard this (might have been from a live letter), but I believe it was if the leader has a very long period of inactivity, then his master title will be passed on.

The specifics of it though, have no idea, just going off something I recall.

Problem is I can't be on this game every day to activate company actions. Also I don't want to promote someone to my level and end up wasting the company credits in a bad way and also for them to be able to demote me and have complete control over the FC so really there should be a better way to get leadership transferred over.

Yeah but with a coup' you get to host show trials and make speeches denouncing the old ineffective leadership :p

lol So FC leaders can't go on vacation, is that what I'm reading? Sure, he/she should have told you what was going on, but if folks are leaving after only 7 days of the leaders absence, the FC has bigger issues.

As there is currently no way to transfer the permissions of the free company leader to other members in the event that they leave the game, or don't log in for a long time, we are working to make it possible to receive these permissions via some method. For example, if the leader has not logged in for a very long period of time, it will automatically be passed to another officer by specific rules. We will be implementing this system after patch 2.1.

Now that is pretty neat. I've had instances in other games where our guild leader actually passed away and we had to wait awhile to pass the lead.

No they Can't w/o notification of other members . Being FC leader = Take responsibility , all FC leaders have to understand that .

I don't disagree, however, a week seems rather quick to be jumping ship.

Yes, only if the leader goes MIA for very long time as in many months. A week is very reasonable, if you'll excuse my example, for things like unexpected hospitalization.

I'm going to be brutally blunt. Unless you are paying them real money to be your FC leader, you have zero say in whether they can take a vacation without letting members know. This is a video game, not a career.

They are paying for this game, just like you are. Just because they formed a FC doesn't mean they have to sacrifice their life for your convenience. If you are truly unhappy and can't function without a leader, form your own FC.

This was in wow, guild leader dethrone, they used 90 days in that game if a guild leader is absent people of the next rank could take over leadership. 90 days seems like a good amount, not super short but not way to long either.

There are more issues then just the leader not being around, and that is that only the leader can perform certain functions, such as approval of new members. Besides allowing dethrone of non-functional leader, SE also needs to allow more delegation of duties within the FC so it can still operate.

Even more of this kind of issues will rise once housing comes into play.

You can already give permission to members to invite other players into your FC, as well as other kinds of permissions.

There may be things that are still missing, and improvements should definitely be made, but basic things like these are already in.

Then the leader messed up by not allowing other members to perform those duties. You can create ranks and give those ranks various permissions. The leader also must have taken away the permission of the members to invite others, which was set by default. As I said, this FC seems to have other issues.

Any responsible FC leader would have given a heads up orlet someone know if they were taking an extended break. There is always the chance that something has gone awry, and if you like your FC leader then there is no reason to jump ship after just a week. If I were in your shoes I would just encourage people to have faith and hope that he/she just lost internet access and hasn't been able to let you know. It would be terrible to learn that the leader had been hospitalized and you all left after not hearing from him or her after just a week.

My FC leader is a great guy and if he took a break or something else happened I think we would all be able to keep things together in his absence.

So what you're saying, is that when I invite someone to my FC while the FC leader is not online, that person cannot join and chat with us on the FC until the leader logs on, and specifically approve the new player, and only then, we see that the new player has joined and he can chat with us on the FC channel?

That's not how mine works.

Pretty sure approval is not defult in the invite system. It is possible to give everyone the same authority as the leader. And if u have promotion right, u could promote urself to the next highest rank and full authority.

ehh? We have a master for our ls and then we have a few leaders under that (Myself included). As a leader I can invite people to the free company all the time and they are able to get the buffs and can chat in fc chat right away. I can confirm this cause I'm one of the primary leaders who invite players. The person who created the ls (the master) has never had to approve someone that I invited. Seems like AttacKat has/is having some bad experiences with the fc he is a part of

You dont have to approve via fc master. .. what are these people on?
You invite someone(any one with invite privileges) and then that person accepts if they want to join. Where are these ppl getting info that if the master is gone ppl cant get approved and fc can't grow O_o;

anyone who is given an invite(which anyone with invitation privileges can do) to a free company can join said fc without any say of the fc master. This is of course unless the fc master was only person allowed to invite (which is stupid cuz theyre not usually on 24/7 and most fc at least have coleaders or officers deligated to invite as well)

I joined a FC and everything was good for a week, they were super friendly and helpful. I was happy that I had found such a great bunch of people. Then all of a sudden they are MIA! It's been 25 days now and my wonderful new FC is a ghost town. :(

Yeah... If this could come sooner it would be appreciated.

I have been reading old posts about patch 2.1 having the ability to change free company leaders and the release has come and I still dont see a way to change it. Any suggestions?

I enjoy our FC and do not wish to disband it but the name is terrible and possibly offensive to some.It is called "Blood of Satans Sins". The FC leader has not been on in 47 days now and we are trying to change leadership but that is another story. Is there any way to change the name of an existing FC?

I think it's 30 days-60 days

I'm having the exact opposite problem. The leader of my FC and everyone has been inactive for 100 days.. I'm now the master, but I can't approve, or leave actually...anybody know how I can get out of this purgatory! I need a new FC to help me with some storyline stuff!

If you feel no love for the free company go ahead and disband it. If the membership aren't interested in playing anymore then you have no obligation to maintain the company.

35 days then it's passed to the highest ranked active user. Just happened in my fc.
