Bot's and SE's responce

Botting has become a joke a massive joke yet i have seen no responce from SE addressing the situation

while i no it takes time to implement countermeasures to stop botting some kind of responce to reassure the fan base that are paying to play this game would be nice.

people who have been reported more than a week ago are still there teleporting from node to node come on SE a week and there still there.

So i am asking that SE inform the community about the measures they intend to implement.

as paying costomers we deserve at least that

Yesterday I had to ask someone to help me do my hunting log because lvl 50 bots were camping an area and killing the marks I needed... Luckily if you ask for help in shout people are willing to help you.

A bot that was killing Banemites in at least the last two days on Phoenix was no longer there yesterday.

I'd have to keep checking if Airell Piper is still around before I conclude that the character was finally banned though.

I wish more could be said for the tab target botter at dragonheads ornery camps which have been there for nearly a week now, i have reported them each day, and i have managed to kill them by leeshing mobs to them and breaking the rhythm of there bot/marco or what ever it is they have done but once the realise there bot is dead they teleport back to town sell there good and return seriously i took over the came then only to 15 minutes later the otter waltzed back into the area and took over again....!

I noticed alot fewer bots in my usual mining area. But a TON more by the low level spawns for mining.

How do you recognize a bot? I mean, I need to farm diremite webs often and my actions are extremely repetitive. Sort of a system if you will. What are the tell tale signs to look for?

They teleport to their target. Something honest players like yourself can't do, regardless of how repetitive you are.

Actually, I think for mining/gathering (not killing things) some of the RMTs as of today started using a more difficult-to-identify bot program. Instead of teleporting underground with just their name showing they have put their bots on a relentless, endless cycle of walking between the nodes as they propagate and mining them almost like a normal player.

I noticed this morning, instead of the several teleport miners outside Ul'duh, a huge army of this new type. They were all identical characters (the large Hulk-like race) dressed the same, with similar types of names. The only way to definitively identify these as RMT bots (though surely that is what they are) is if they work the nodes 24/7 in a way humans can't and obviously if SE can tie their shard harvests to their RMT masters.

You can still get hunting log credit for something, even if another person has tagged it as their mob.

Maybe SE needs to run to other mmo staff and ask them how they keep their games clean.

It doesn't seem to be getting any better, my blist is growing and is almost full.

Hmm... Maybe the reason SE goes so slowly and concentrates so much on finding the larger connections in the RMT web is that they are trying to target the gil buyer even more than the RMT organizations. There's a certain logic in this. The biggest cheats of all in the RMT world are those who buy gil. There would be no purpose in running an RMT operation in the game if there was no economic viability for their products. Think of it this way. If you nuke most of the gil buyers the whole RMT chain falls apart. But if you nuke just the RMT characters as they appear, leaving the larger web undiscovered and the buyers mostly untouched, new RMT characters simply appear the next day phoenix-like from their ashes.

However, long delays in the periodic wielding of the ban hammer runs the risk of so seriously damaging the game's economy as bots run rampant, massive gil sales build up, and RMT barkers endless hawk their wares that it could be akin to burning down the village to save it.
