Entering in Progress--Already Complete

Talked about this in another thread but I thought it deserved it's own.

Concerning entering an instance that is already completed:

This has happened to me and I know how it happens. After completing the instance a party member leaves. The leader of the party gets the pop up for replenishing. I've received it myself. I always make sure to press no. I bet there are individuals that hit yes just to grief...or possibly by button smashing.

I've been summoned twice to AK that was over.

Developers need to shut down the ability to replenish when the final boss is defeated.

I absolutely agree, I want to know why it even pops up at the end of the instance in the first place.

I agree as well, I have, on accident, button smashed and opened up the instance. Fortunately, this has only happened once and noone acctually ended up joining in the time it took me to exit the instance.

This is why I uncheck the box "Join run in progress" so I always get a fresh group that hasn't started yet.

Avoid that 3/4

Some groups need a replacement. I've been in a parry that someone left for whatever reason. I don't see why an available function should go unfixed.

This, it clearly shows the progress before you click join, if you joining end sessions, that is solely the persons fault for not reading the progress sheet before going in, it can easily be controlled.

That may be so but you have to withdraw and rejoin which puts you at the back of the queue again. Happened to me 4 times yesterday

That is the price of joining in progress, you have to take that risk, when i get 3/4 i usually wait a few minutes before trying again.

Thing is, when the final boss is defeated there is NO need for reinforcements so it really makes no sense in the first place. At the very least it should change the 'progress sheet' to 4/4 or whatever the number of steps there are for each instance, that way there is no confusion at all.

I never even understood why it has 3/4 there are only 3 bosses in that map. i never denied it was not a glitch or something not intended but you can easily avoid it, the only people who abuse it are those looking for free run clears for relic or GC request.

The price for joining an in progress run? Are you serious? All this is doing is stopping people from ticking the in progress box so tough luck for those in a dungeon who need someone to join half way through their run which is the whole point of the system.

Get a grip. It's a simple fix that needs to happen.

Quit trying to create drama, you click join in progress you have to deal with the downside, everyone tries it them sevles due to wanting max tomes quickly, so don't sit here and pretend that it should 100% safe with no downside. it is already a risk as is join sessions and there being no tank or healer or some job that isn't easily replaced, you are displaying negativity for no reason other then an argument.

the solution IS simple, don't click join in progress if you don't want to risk seeing that 3/4 regardless if it needs fixed or not, it is EASILY avoidable so it's not really a problem unless you're one of those people desperatly trying to leech runs.

Don't go there.

I am absolutely speechless. Why you think it shouldn't be "100% safe" is beyond me. It has nothing to do with getting tomes quickly. I queue for multiple dungeons at a time. As DPS you have to if you don't want to be waiting an hour or more. I have done this since the level 15 dungeons started. The fact is, it shouldn't happen. End of story.

Because you seem to not read well, i already stated in a previous post i am aware it is something not intended, but whining about it is pointless considering it isn't FORCED on you at all. 100% safe meaning you can control what you join and how you join it, when you look at the progress sheet you have to decide if you want to risk joining it or not.
because 1 of 2 things happen.

A:No tank or healer, tanks will almost NEVER join in progress because they simply don't need to, healers may as i do it my self due to usually finding people wiping to demon wall. very rarely do i ever get people at the last boss.

B: bad players, some people will simply ditch runs if you have some horrible players and you end up going in risking you having to deal with that.

Those are the risks you have to deal with. that is why it is not 100% safe. If you join a 3/4 you already know what to expect when going in, so it's your choice not to do it, was no reason for you to even debate on this.

it happened to me last weekend
when i joined AK, i read the Japanese saying goodbye and such, then they were leaving lol
i never tick join in progress again since then

When your 'In Progress' pops, it shows you the current Progress of it (0/3, 1/3, 2/3, 3/3). It's a YELLOW Number so it is kinda hard to see... but it does tell you ahead of time.

For AK:
0/3 - No Bosses Killed
1/3 - Flayer Killed
2/3 - Wall Killed
3/3 - Myth Tomes Collected.

For others:
0/3 - No Bosses Dead
1/3 - 1st Boss Dead
2/3 - 2nd Boss Dead
3/3 - Dungeon Completed.

Although I would agree that people shouldn't click 'Refresh Party' after they finish.

btw what does the numbers mean, the dungeon room progression?
does it mean that if it's 3/3 then the party is already in the last room?

I edited the post as you were quoting lol... It means the number of Bosses downed.
For AK:
0/3 - They may be wiping on first boss (probably getting Plainscracked... I'd love to see if some group of Relic+1/Allagan wielders could kill that Megalith Monolith!)
1/3 - They beat the first boss, but can't meet the DPS Check for the Wall.
2/3 - They beat the wall, but Bone Dragon's farts are killing them.
3/3 - The Dungeon is complete.

It actually shows up as 1/4 2/4 etc for whatever reason not 3. Although there are clearly only 3 bosses to count. Unless there is some hidden boss nobody knows about.

This only happens with AK. It is simply a bug. Count the bosses. There are not four. It is clearly not intended behavior, and therefore not a legitimate game feature in need of a petition. Some programmer put a 4 where there was supposed to be a 3. That is all that this is. They're surely aware of the issue by now. Just wait for 2.1 to fix it. In the meantime, you can avoid the issue altogether with ease. Simply read your alerts before clicking the Join button. 3/4 = click on Withdraw. Not that hard.

(Or if you get that unlucky 3/4, then you might as well make the most of your bad situation. You can always click Join and collect the previous group's skipped gil coffers -- a potential 4k+ gil, minion, and level 60 accessory for two to three minutes of your time? It's better than a queue getting wasted for nothing.)

I let some AKs replenish because during the Relic Reborn quest, you just need to exit out of the dungeon to obtain a key item. It happened on my first relic (free win), so I left it open the 2nd time I ran an AK. I think 1 out of the 5 people that joined was happy about it, in Japanese, but the others just quit. I figured that all who were entering understood the "Join party in progress" but if there is a bug where-by people not checking the box are getting in, then I will never replenish there.

Even if SE have some reason not to change the replenish feature it would make a big difference if the replenish box didn't pop over the exit one.

Well, there is ONE good thing to come out of it. If you're on the GC or relic quest to go in and complete it, it instantly gives you credit for it :)
