Future Relic Weapons

lets all discuss something like future relics for class/job that may or may not make it into FF14.

So what Relics do you expect to see in the future.

For me I can see...

Lightbringer - Red Mages Ultimate weapon in FF series and is also known to be called Illumina.

Deathbringer - Dark Knight's Ultimate weapon in FF series with history of the famous Instance kill effect from past FF games. It is known to be a sword weapon with having both one-handed version and two-handed version in FF series.

I'm guessing Excalibur 1/2 for Paladins.

dat staff BLM use while casting Meteor, I want.

Would be a nice upgrade from relic +1.

Oh, yes. Lightbringer for Red Mage.

Though I'm still thinking Ama no Murakumo to be Samurai relic weapon.

For Ninja, they need Koga and Iga blades.

That's already a staff in game, if I recall correctly.

I would really love Arcanist relics to be based on best-selling books. Something like The Da Vinci Code. They could also have a fake, useless relic called Twilight.

Too bad Deathbringer in FFXI was a useless hunk of junk though with crappy stats and was quickly replaced. ;)

Excalibur or Save the Queen definitely for PLD. :)

I suppose Deathbringer could be a nice relic status weapon for Dark Knights but I'd rather Ragnarok made its way back mostly because I give Deathbringer the same status as I do the Blood Sword or even the Ancient Sword: an iconic FF weapon but never really a contender for end game weapons in various FF entries. Since this game has quite a few FFXII motifs I'd imagine Chaos Blade to make an appearance since it debuted in the Ivalice games. I can't wait for the Ryunohige to make an appearance as well although it's more commonly known in other FFs as Dragon Whisker but it prob won't be given Legendary weapon status unless they release Ultimate weapons in batches like they did in XI which I doubt they'd do.

I wonder if we'll be able to keep upgrading relic weapons into different stages and have them given different names.

I'm thinking SE will give us some way to +2 the current relic weapons when they increase the level cap some time in future to 75 like the progression in FFXI. After that, they will probably add new ultimate/mythical/insertcoolnamehere type weapons for higher lol caps.

I just want to have my Apocalypse again. :(

I don't think they will let us +2 relics, they are level 50 weapons and I am sure by the time cap goes up to 60+ they will be outclassed by higher level weapons. The reason I think this is because if they don't do that then once someone dings 50 they will just work on their relic all the way to whatever the cap goes up to and it will make any weapons put into the game after level 50 pointless if these relics are still best in slot.

Swordsman (2-handed SWD DPS Class) + MRD = Soldier (SLD)... Relic: Buster Sword; Cloud Outfit... Who needs a helmet?

what no one has any ideals what past FF weapon they would like to see appear as a Future Relic?

Actually, for Red Mage, Enhancer can be the relic and Lightbringer be legendary or whatever upper weapons tier there will be. Enhancer historically is a higher level blade that increases magic power in FF, and in XI, increased enspell damage along with attack and accuracy.

For dragoon, the step above relics can be Longinus.

Paladin can have Excalibur for legendary.

Dark Knight can have Ragnarok for relic and Apocalypse for legendary. Great Swords, both, since Apocalypse was a sword in the FFV remake and FFVII.

Magus Rod for Black Mage legendary.

Sage Staff for White Mage legendary.

It be nice if future relics require older relics as a requisite.

Imagine if suddenly older content becomes irrelevant and people begin to skip stuff, making the old world/dungeons/etc useless.

Just make it so the old gives rise to the new, don't let the old stuff become meaningless. Most mmo's do this.

Ah Deathbringer was not the deathbringer people know and love in FFXI.

The design for Deathbringer in FFXI was too simple and looked like a normal 2 handed sword.

I'm talking about bring in the True Deathbringer of the FF series into FF14.

That would be Ultima Weapon my friend. The very first Ultimate Weapon in FF series and the mother of all Relic/Mythic/ whatever most powerful weapon in FF games. Nothing has truly surpass this weapon in FF games in value and power.

It is FF series best and most powerful weapon for any FF Main Character and has serveral version you may know being these...

Fun Fact: Tidus' Celestial weapon was originally called Ultima Weapon before they changed the name to Caladbolg in FFX.

How about SE creates actually new armor and weapon models instead of reusing and slightly modifying existing art assets?

Implying they're going to bring 10-15 year old assets, or more, in the form of poor 3D graphics/modeling and sprites into the game? They still have to make the shit for FFXIV. lol

No, that's not what I mean. I mean the aesthetic assets - not the actual models. The designs themselves. I don't understand why folk want to see derivative reworks of designs SE has used and reused who knows how many times.

Sadly no since it is a ilvl 70 weapon but you can save it for Vanity slot (assuming they add a Vanity slot for weapons)
