Twintania 'Twister' mechanic

Everyone that I have spoken to seems to think the Twister spell casted by Twintania is 'broken'.

The group I am running with is able to get to her Twister/Dreadnight phase flawlessly at this point every attempt (unless of course someone disconnects).

How it looks is there are two variations of the spell:
1. The cast starts and about midway during the spell it takes the current position of your character and places a small green twister at your feet. To avoid the twister from exploding we simply run away during the cast.

2. The cast starts and at the end of the cast she puts the twister right at your feet and instantly blows you up (you wont even see the twister spawn). This is where the headaches lies, there is no indication of when it will happen - it just does.

Number 1 is easily managed. I've had a streak of dodging about 15-20 twisters in a row, then the next 4-5, instantly blow up on me. It makes no sense to me whatsoever...

I guess what I'm hoping for in this post is a reply from someone, anyone saying something along the lines of "you're missing a mechanic" or "yes, this mechanic is buggy, there seems to be a latency issue with twisters and character position"

We have been at the point where we can consistently make it to twister phases for weeks now.

We have learned literally everything we can learn about this encounter and tried every possible random strategy you can try to counter twister. We are approaching it in the same way you now are. You can dodge it 3 times in a row, and then the next 3 it decides to kill you over and over again. There is something clearly wrong with how the server is determining position at the time of placement of twister and/or activation of twister.

It would seem that it is placing it at some point during the cast and unless you update at some point after this, it will assume you are still standing in it and blow you up very unceremoniously. There may be ways to reduce the chances of this occurring, but it could be completely psychological and still very unreliable.

I'm just starting to get into coil. When it resets each week do you have to start over from turn 1?

We are seeing the same thing. I've also seen the Twister blow up a few steps behind me as well.

Can confirm the existence of buggy twisters as described above. Extremely inconsistent positional updates. Please fix.

Just wanted to make sure that this gets the attention it needs, because it is a serious game-breaking issue as far as Binding Coil is concerned.

Maybe this is some artificial cockblock to keep people from legitimately beating Turn 5 before CT comes out. :P

It's beyond annoying because we know we can do this, evasion tactics is not that hard. It is hard when it's unavoidable. We've done like every tactic we could think of, out of the box thinking including some brilliant and stupid ideas, nothing works whatsoever.

This bug is frustrating and infuriating, I cannot fathom why SE did not test/anticipate this mechanic/the servers.

We suspect the optimization changes they put into place early on for release stability had a negative effect on positional update frequency, which broke being able to reliably avoid several of this encounter's abilities. It was probably working fine on their end in a test environment with little to no ping and high update frequency.

Someone needs to translate this so it will actually get noticed by real devs, not just cms who were only hired to deal with the silly English speaking crowd and on occasion translate a note or 2 where a dev posted in Japanese.

This is what we are experiencing as well. After trying 6 or so different strats last night nothing seemed to work. Dodging seems to be the only reliable way but you can't the majority of the time.

This mechanic definitely feels like a position update issue. To help move this along to SE, we should all update our posts with an official bug report format listing. They are particular about it being included.

Steps:
1. Proceed through encounter to twister phase
2. Run when twister is cast by Twintania
3. Twister either appears behind you on the ground, or under you feet exploding and sending you in to the air
4. Repeat 1-3 until you experience both cases.
