I am from Lamia server. There are 2 or more bot farmming Diremite Web like 24 hours. I have been reported them. I don't except get a reply from SE but they are missing in action to ban those bot. I am really upset their missing in action.

They aren't just on lamia server. They are on many servers.. people even use these teleporting bots on Sheep by Dragon head. I don't understand why SE can't catch onto people using teleporting bots. =_=
I know it must have same issue on other server but point is that SE don't ban them... I can't work on my crafting class then I will have to buy from market. Those are sooo expensive. I have to buy while I have ability to get it but I can't do it. How sad is that?
I can simply say the gold seller or bot control the market price.
This is the same for leviathan. The same person is selling like 12 stacks of 99 of diremite webs. No way that isn't RMT. Really tired of how SE is handling this RMT/botting issue. Almost like it's good to cheat now. They're NOT getting banned. I reported a mine botter and they're still botting as i type this. And i reported them like 12+ days ago. So yeah, great job STF. So many issues with this game that just really makes players not want to play..... Issues not being fixed fast enough. Things like enemies not showing up @ fates, party members randomly disappearing. And of course the RMT and Bot threat.
Just a note; and not defending SE. However, SE tends to ban in waves. Least they have in the past. Also for the Diremite Web. If you do your homework you can easily earn all the Diremite webs you need without ever farming or buying them.
Edit: This is defending SE a bit. I assume some of you must be new to the MMO scene, from your complaints. There will always be gilfinders, there will always be hackers and exploiters as long as people buy gil and fund these types of people. If anything you should be attacking those supplying these gilfinder with money.
There is really not many issue's with the game as far as bugs go. Sure there's some minor ones here and there but none truly game breaking. FATE's not showing up? Oh well, not a big deal and its a known issue. Other issues I have seen in this thread are KNOWN ISSUES which will be fixed, and none of them game breaking.
Every popular MMO to date has and will have Gold/Gil sellers and spammers, and RMT. And if they manage to filter out the goldspam, you'll have them finding other ways. Now I am not ahuge fan of WoW, but anyone remember when the gold sellers arranged there corpses to spell out the name of their website in Ogrimmar? They will always find a way.
Do you realize how many reports they get a day. Also it's the weekend. Also they need to follow procedures to invgestage each report before takeing action.
TLDR: IT will be handled. It just takes a couple days.
Ya behemoth server has 3 bots per fleece dirmite and gathering nodes in every zone all times of the day.. LOL at SE when they say they play this game .. otherwise it would have been dealt with already.
This is also happening on Behemoth in the Diremite "normal" farming location. If you are just decent though you can steal all these from the bots....as BARD I can easily. I still want to see them go away though....this is not fair...they sit there all day and get all that to sell and make money.
Tip: if you run across a low level bot...level 25 or so you can just aggro like 3 and let them kill them.
Bans come in waves. They need time to properly investigate to avoid wrongful banning.
Just like any other MMO, the best you can do is to report and move on. If the person(s) is a legit botter, they will eventually be removed from game.
Is it weird that I have actually never seen one?
I thought I did once.. But it was just an NPC.
Tons of RMT though.. But I haven't seen an actual bot on my server yet.
In 11, after months of reporting, certain bots were still there. SE fails at dealing with this. The wave bans don't work. Before the bans are done there are already new bots ready to take over, so the problem persists continuously.
There is always an excuse for them not to do quick bans, and it's getting old. Like the RMT advertisers? Why aren't they instantly dealt with? They don't do anything but shout, there is no gil to track with those or logs to be researched. A GM patrolling a zone could deal with those instantly. As for tell advertising we shouldn't even have to fill out a report, as soon as a few hundred players blist someone they can investigate a log and deal with it.
Knowing SE, don't expect this to change. People can defend SE all they want, but the fact remains that this is not working.
I understand banning in waves for RMT(the banks and buyers and such), but the spam and teleport botters shouldn't last more than an hour or two after being reported. It takes literally 2 seconds to see they're blatantly breaking the TOS.
On my server there are SWARMS of Teleport Botters in Ul'dah running the level Delivery quests in the city there and what not. They all have a string of random characters for names and I think I figured out that theres a "Root" Bot that stands in the Market place there and after all the "swarm" bots finish thier runs they all teleport to the "root" bot and trade the gil they made to it. After that is rinse and repeat.
And they teleport around the city so fast its no wonder theres so much lag on our server ( Zalera ) not to mention during Peak Times and well into the late evening to early morning we got a Server Que cause the server is so full of bots.
Have you guys ever thought about that it is not only getting the bots who do the farming but that SE also look where the money goes too, I mean what use is it to ban the account farming the items but fail to ban the account where all the money in the end goes too?
So while for us it sucks that these don't get banned I think SE does know and will react but need to look at the bigger picture.
If they're doing that, then they're doing it wrong. No one gives a damn about the people who have the money. They care about the bot that's preventing them from farming Fleece or Diremite Webs or whatever. And since they can't make money doing that now, what are they going to do? Quit or buy gil. Both counterproductive to SE's cause.
The main priority should be the bots/RMT that directly effect players. And again, there is NO reason these bots shouldn't be banned within a couple hours of being reported. It takes literally 2 seconds to see they're hacking. Let's say ~5 minutes including log-in/out and travel time, assuming they even need to do that. A couple people could probably keep up with all the bots reported in a day.
There really is no excuse for those teleport botters to last more than 1 day. I'm disappointed in the lack of effort SE puts into dealing with them and if I do decide to cancel my sub and stop playing, it'll be because of that.
Seen the same sort of thing in Gridania on Lamia... Named Coco See... Reported this character several times. Nothing done about it for now more than 10 days. You'd think someone would actually look and notice that the same level 1 character has been standing in the same spot 24/7 for over a week, logged in immediately when server is back up. I'd hate to see their response being that slow incase some user has died at keyboard like with some MMOs.
It's one thing to look at where the money goes. It's another thing to let them be there and very directly impact the gameplay and making the lives of legit players (esp. weavers in this case) more difficult. Aren't there enough GMs per server or something? A GM popping in and taking a peek at what happens should be all it takes to confirm that they're teleport hacking.
Another thing they really need to add is an autogag function. 10+ blacklists within an hour or so? 12-24hr account-wide mute. Would spare them time dealing with RMT advertizers if they're as incapable of dealing with the spam theirselves as it seems.
Yep, it's alot more then "couple of days" even if they ban in waves they have plenty of time to do more then enough damage, then when they finnaly do ban them a few months later they are replaced asap and then continues untill another month or 2 later. If they are handling this they are doing a very poor job of it. it's almost like it's ok to cheat in this game, since there is no fear of punishment.
On Balmung there's a group of bots in South Shroud that've been grinding the deathmice there for approaching 2 weeks now... It makes me question whether I should waste my time filing reports if the Gm's can't find the time to act upon them :/
The Gm's need to be seen to more pro-active if they want the community to continue to work with them.
There's more than one issue here and it's not the teleporting gathering bots that discourage me the most - it's the ones that don't teleport (and instead just use a recorded patrol path with set hotspots) that are so rampant right now. The teleporting ones - which seemed to be mostly run by RMT at first actually seem to be declining in numbers from what I've personally seen on my server. The less blatant (but still blatant) patrol path/hotspot bots however are increasingly common - at most gathering locations I go to there is more of this type of botting going on day after day from node to node nonstop by the same "players".
Looking at forums online, the impression is you can safely bot on your character during your offtime/sleep with no repercussions in this game as SE isn't taking any action if you aren't blatantly RMT associated (a lot like the environment in FFXI for years).
Personally I haven't seen any less teleporting bots, just the addition of more of them using waypoints to bot. I'm really just getting tired of reporting these absurd amount of bots that are still there well over 2 weeks later. It's so painfully obvious they are bots, there isn't even a single degree of investigation required. This is feeling like every other game where they focus on trying to prevent it instead of banning all of them ruining the economy for months.
I do still see teleporting bots and usually end up sending in multiple reports a day regarding them. Now that I think about it though, me seeing less of them than I used to probably has more to do with me leveling up my mining/botany past the first low level mining/botany areas (since there's no point in leveling up a shard-collecting bot and XP is so low for shards anyway) than due to any action by SE...
Irregardless, I've definitely noticed a dramatic increase in the the relative amount of patrol/waypoint/hotspot bots (that are often characters with high level DoW jobs) on top of the already existing problem of teleporting bots (that are often throw-away, low level, RMT-type accounts). I guess the moral of the story is that botting in general is getting worse, starting from bad.
I just find it frustrating that actual players (who otherwise might be legitimate players) are so blatantly botting/cheating. I guess I expect it from RMT. But this shouldn't be happening by players in an MMO to this degree without fear of repercussion. Many that you see are even in prominent Free Companies (one was even an officer of a prominent one), so it seems to be something the community as a whole has already become resigned to, or worse, actively embracing and accepting.
My apologies in advance for ranting. I just wish SE would do something more effective before botting becomes even more established into the culture of this game.
This is a tell tale sign that SE is woefully inadequate when it comes to the employ of GMs. When I was a GM in Everquest 2 we were always present (although invisible) and we caught tons of bots red handed. If someone files a report on our server we can see it in a matter of a few minutes.
It's not that hard. You stick a GM near the fleece sheep....just hang out there for three hours and end up banning seven people. When we banned people, we placed them in a GM prison and then filed our paperwork to get their account and visa card banned.
When I see the same bot on the Gilgamesh server botting fleece with a teleport hack FIVE days after my group and I and several other people reported him then I KNOW SE has a great big problem.
Waiting until they get a bunch for a massban is not a good idea. It's laziness. It's poor management.
Two weeks ago there was a GM showing off in the adventure guild building in Ul'dah. Meanwhile, there was 3 bots spam shouting their gold selling companies. Here's the kicker...the 3 bots who were spam shouting was in the same damn building with the GM. Those bots did not disappear for another 4 days. The GM did not do a damn thing when he/she was there.
All in all I'd like some transparency about how the RMT situation is being dealt with.
What is this "special task force"? Where do they work and how do they roughly deal with RMT? Are certain servers favored over others? What is their aim and how do they try to attain it? Do they really need to be secretive? Why does it take so long to ban someone who's obviously doing something wrong? Is there a benefit to that?
They are probably quiet because they were waiting for the first round of subscriptions to end to see how things turned out. Funny enough I've been on for 3 hours today and haven't seen one /tell or shout from RMT which is a change from the previous 5 min of blacklisting every time I logged in.
That's a crock of shit. No offense intended but people would have to be really naive to believe this. My account was banned within an 8 hour period of time for RMT shouting after it was hacked. While I slept. Where was this proper investigation before I was locked out of my account? No where. I'm waiting for 12 days because they investigated NOTHING before suspending my account.
reported tons and tons of people who i believe to be cheating using teleport hacks. there is this 1 dude on the serve i play on that teleports from mob to mob in drybone from what i assume havesting aldgoat skins hes been doing this for days and has been reported along with time stamp 5 days later he's still doing it whats the point of reporting when SE dont seam to do anything about it.
As far as I know, this game is "pay to play" and I through it should be better "Game Environment" than other game. If that issue keep continues, then why we not just play other free to play game?
In other word, just feed SE money.
don't say I am mean but it is the fact of my thinking.
