Having trouble getting into this one, it seems. In the past four days, I've either had real life get in the way, or the Duty Finder defeats me. My friends keep wanting me to do things, and today I was asked by my grandmother while I was 40 minutes into a queue to go pick up dinner in town. Bleh.
Normally, I wouldn't care, but you have to do Brayflox to advance the story (Why you have to fight a green dragon for a smelly piece of cheese, I'll never understand) so I'm stuck.
What's a Black Mage to do? Not enough frontliners and medics, it seems. :p

I occasionally just randomly queue up to heal it for people, but that doesn't mean we are in the same group of servers since I never bothered keeping track which server cluster were put together.

Find a tank or healer to queue with. That place is very unfriendly to bad players so not many people like it.

Haven't hit this point in the story yet and really not looking forward to it. I am not a fan of the dungeons anyway, but this one from what I have been reading isn't the most appealing :( I hear you about RL. Finding even just an hour to play lately is impossible!

But you should try to find a helpful LS or FC and see if anyone can help you out that way!! I find my FC is absolutely indispensable in situations like this and it usually more fun going with people you are going to get to see again on a regular basis (at least it is for me).

Its difficult, it stalled my boyfriend (tank) and I (sch) nearly a week before we decided to attempt it again; (mind we got gear upgrades and class skills during that time). the last boss is the one thats the challenge. Eorzea-source.com Brayfloxs Longstop does help a little to get you aware. Besides that, try to get a tank that has done it before...first attempt we wiped on the last boss 6-8 times before the party fell apart b/c outta time; second time we ran it with minimal issues. use food buffs, level to its cap (or past) will also help too.

I've done this dungeon close to 20 times with the duty finder, mostly as a BLM, and have had only one bad run. It's in a really nice sweet spot of people doing it for the first time for the story (which gives everyone bonus EXP for bosses) and people running it repeatedly for gear drops.
Of course, I also have zero obligations outside of work so I just enter the queue when I get home and then do other stuff. -

That place is even worse than end-game dungeons because people go back to farm for the Battlemage and Infantry sets. Some tanks farm for the Cavalry set, but tanks get first grabs on all tanking gear, so they don't grind it as much as DD/Healers do. Perpetual shortage of tanks there.
I still remember one of my queue as WHM there lasted for over an hour and then I went to help heal Haukke for a FC buddy. -

Yeah, Brayflow is the first dungeons, where you really need to adapt to boss fights and pay attention, so the difficulty curve starts to get... curvier from this point on.
All Dungeons before that... you could get away with quite some mistakes and still win.
The 1. Boss can be a struggle if your DPS wont kill the adds fast and the aggro management wont work (adds eat healer).
Second Boss - pay attention to your group and get people out of bubbles.
Final Boss is all about Tank and placing the dragon smart so neither group nor dragon stand in poison puddles.
And yeah, the story drags along quite a bit at this point, but it gets better afterwards. So for the story it is worth beating it and getting on. But be prepared to face dungeons that get harder from now. -
