Current AF2 3D models

Took me a short time to build them but here they are. The color is a bit brighter than in the game but you can see the detail of each one.

Current the 3D model for Summoner AF2 color is off but there is not much different between AF1 and AF2 since AF2 uses the same color as AF1 but a bit darker.

It all looks nice and everything, but given we don't have PS2 holding us back anymore, you'd figure they'd be more creative with the designs and not just palette swap them, add a few designs and call it good.

inb4 PS3 limitations.

I call them AF2.

I call them AF2 because they're the similar design to AF1 but their color theme is just changed, their appearance is only slightly adjust but not far from AF1, and they're given better stats to superior to the AF1.

Bard AF top is white and black, pants are orange and blue, shoes are black while gloves are gold and hat is black I think..don't remember.
AF+1 top is pink and white, pants are light pink/purple/blue, shoes are a dark blue and so are the gloves as well as the hat.

It's a convention from FFXI and you know this - 'Relic' Sets is referred to AF2, as in 2nd Artifact Armor set, both works, if they were AF+1 SE would have left them as "Gallant (Insert)+1" instead of renaming them. Much like in XI the Empyrean Armor set is referred to as AF3, or 3rd Artifact Armor set.

I personally like the 'swap' nature of it because it keeps the same design for the most part but a different colorization, since in all honesty, why should it look radically different while being the same armor set for the most part?

And they call them Relic because they're more rare and superior to the Artifacts.

If we're going to call everything the same thing but with a number, then it would be better to just do what wo does and call it tier 1, 2, 3.... raid gear.

Ya I am kind of disappointed with the designs.

Paladin "relic" armor set actually is the better designed one out of all these but the others are just out of place.

I just hope they add new vanity AF sets for vanity use once vanity system is introduced for more variety in AF looks.

I like that they're just re-coloured versions of the AF gear that you get to wear in full for about the whole of 5 minutes before setting foot into AK and start looking like a lv20 all over again.

I don't like the BLM or MNK colors. BLM looks nearly identical but with a slight purple hue, and MNK just looks fugly. DRG is ok but hardly an "upgrade" cosmetic wise.

Honestly PLD is the only one that I feel got a good color swap, and that's cause they just copied the PLD AF / Relic from FFXI (mostly), except they changed the black for blue in the relic (I like the black better btw.). All of the others are just so-so or bad.

I'm on IPAd does and the models do not show up. Should they be showing up or is this PC only? The items selecting works etc...just no model.

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't show on mobile devices. I'm wiling to bet there's some pretty hefty javascript running that, plus it takes a fair bit of processing power for a browser thing.

Well we can always pray for more variety once VAnity slot is released.

They may add a AF Vanity armor shop that sells different style of AF armor design made specifically for vanity use. They may even make the vanity AF gears designed more unique than the AF1 and Relic since there isn't much difference.

Also, DRG Relic gear is actually more Tron color like in the game. I've seen DRG Relic gear in the game.

Amusing, the item lv 90 version of artifact armor were made so players would be able to wear the same design of the artifact armor they received in their job quest. Just odd that people are complaining about the cosmetic design of it being the same when the reality is a majority of people wanted Artifact armor that was suitable for combat at higher levels.

But we need variety at more than just end game level. The armor variety 1-50 is piss poor. A million different iterations of potato sack and subligar and that one plate armor I can't remember what it's called.

I'd hazard a guess that the people who think it is lazy to release a new tier of armor as just a simple recolor are not the same people who wanted to wear the AF model again. Just, logically speaking here. -_-;
