That is all.
i hate him too. lets get to getter and do a little dance.
and then i need to walk away and yell at server guy for not fixing the wtf latency issue, and then yell at everyone else for not paying attention to the floor/my health.
I hate him too. After killing him over 23124371298 times, I still don't have the full set of Titan weapons.
Oh good idea, I already got mine and it will look amazing in my house :

he wouldnt be so bad if not for latency, because we all love dodging stuff on our screens and still get hit 2 seconds later.
I'll be on today if you need a dps, just keep at it honestly. I am not as unlucky with Titan, I somehow got a pug that did it in 5 tries and minus one healer no one had a relic.
Titan worked oddly well for me. Except on some of the Bombs i would get hit when i was CLEARLY THE FARK AWAY FROM IT.
Outside of that, i was surprised how well or unnoticeable Latency was on the "Weight of the Land" bubbles. I could just barely escape them before they vanished and still avoid them hitting me.
I fought him twice, won twice (yay Linkshells)... First fight I got killed due to being in wrong place/wrong time (Surounded by Weight of Land bubbles cause my Positioning was a bad idea), Died again due to Weakness/Tumult. Second fight i Only died once due to an explosion I CLEARLY WAS NOT STANDING IN HFLEIHFU ROCKBOMBS COERIUEOWRN... But my LS Sells wins so they got the fight down pact.
Regardless, This fight is a bag of dongs and i wish you the best of luck
He loves everyone. Just tough love.
Even if there is a little more lag on Titan, the key is knowing his rotation. When you know he will always use move A after move B you can be ready to move.
I did it with pld, pld(we were running him through it), mnk, mnk, drg. That's wayyyy too much melee, but we didn't die to WoTL once. Just got to know it's going to be time to move, moving>dpsing>healing>anything.
My group kill him 80-100 times weekly, and we pretty much hate him now too. He was such a fun fight a while back.
I've been avoiding this issue by leveling other classes. Really not looking forward to that.
The latency with titan is really the issue. Sure you can blame it on simply bad design where one mistake by one party member ruins the whole run. But whatever, that can be overcame. The latency is the real issue. The most frustrating thing is that it goes from good to bad for no reason. I've had plenty of times where I just barely dodged the plumes and didn't get hit, then other times did the same and was still hit. Then just a few minutes ago I was very clearly out of the landslide, even had other fc members saying the same thing, yet was still knocked off. It's annoying as hell to have this fight tied into the relic quest. I already have mine, but many of my fc members are still stuck. If there is going to be a fight that does not allow any mistakes, then the fight should be designed to permit some leniency for the aoe maneuvers if the servers cannot handle them.
The biggest problem with titan, is the players themselves, it helps to read up on the tactics, but alot of ppl are just to lazy to take 2 mins and google it, they must prefer to wipe over n over, muppets!
Is is kind of stressful in those situations that even though if you yourself learn the mechanics and dodge things you can't help if somebody stands in a double plume or something and gets killed. It's one of those fights where raising is very difficult without having somebody die instantly and taking the stomps with weakness is hard to do so you pretty much know when you get to the heart phase and 2-3 people are down you won't be finishing.
I don't know why people says "oh, rock bombs have lots of patterns, it's so difficult" while you can just watch at the spawn order to know when they'll explode XD
My problem is latency, I'm on PS3 and I almost always manage to aviod Landslide and Weight of the Land, except for sometimes when I run out of the AoE clearly before it disappears, I go on running for 2-3 seconds and then I get killed when I'm on the opposite side of the field -.-
I think I'll buy either a PC or a PS4.
The rocks have exactly three different patterns XD. Only the third one confuses me i think it's like one end explodes then other end then middle.
If that's 'Titan', I'd hate to see a 'Loose-an'!!!!!!!!!!! /gets stoned to death by onlookers
That pattern explodes middle, then the 2nd group of rocks that came down, then the 3rd group so you run to 3rd group first in the middle, wait for landslide and run to middle when that row explodes.
It gets better. I hated it at first, but now? More predictable and controlled than Garuda. Odd tip....turn the awesome music down. First few wins it got me excited and freaked me out.
I hate Titan
I wouldn't go as far as hating Titan but he does seam OTT hard that most DF groups can't touch him and the guy seams to hate me as much as Ifrit as he seams to want to constantly kill me. Don't mind Garuda trying to kill me as I get a nice view as I die :-D
I need to point out that this doesn't make Titan impossible, but it does make it far more difficult than necessary. Having (still playable) latency just means you need to minimise risk far more meticulously. One time I did Titan, I got knocked off due to a landslide in phase 5 because I thought I could move forward rather than back and evade it in time, but because of latency I got knocked off two seconds after I was completely out of the aoe. But it wasn't all because of latency, I could have moved in another direction rather than the one I chose and have been completely safe. You just need to think of it as this: "If I have lag, I can't do x the normal way I would, maybe doing y instead will help me". As an Australian player who has to constantly deal with latency in every MMO, I really sympathise people's situation. It's doable, you just have to try your best.
My co whipped his ass proper (I did quote after the fight that HE LOOKS LIKE A BIG TURD!)
Also- to Lafarion "You Smart ass!" ha ha
Titan is the most fun boss in the game imo. Warm up your fingers before entering, move before he does his aoe, learn the rotation.
It is about learning the rotation of his attacks. Phase 5 is where he is hardest because a lot of the time in DF you don't get a lot of good DPS to push heart to the next phase; a lot of the time you don't get a lot of practice on it compared to the first phases.
Fun!? I know it is your opinion, but I have other things to do in my life. I like to see progress in something that pretty much adds no value to my life. If I am frustrated at something that is for pure entertainment, then it is unhealthy. Titan's fight is nothing but a time sink (in reality all games are like that, but if it makes you feel like it then there is a problem).
Should I be scared?
Titan is for now the most entertaining battle of the game!
If you just want to win always, you can fight lv1 Little Ladybugs.
Losing is not frustrating, it just pushes you to fight again, and again, to improve and get stronger to beat the boss ;)
I love to beat a boss after trying it several times, I hate winning at the first try, it's kinda boring, like "Well, I won. Then? Oh, loot. Great.", while when I win after losing for days it's all like "OH GOD DAYUM I WON THIS IS SO FREAKING AWESOME", even the loot is better when you take down an enemy after losing to him :D
Losing is frustrating when it's someone else constantly causing the wipes. You do everything 100% correct and one bad player ruins it constantly. You do a new group (not even PUG, but people in Mor), 1-2 people suck and blame lag. Bah. Wiped 30+ times before finding a competent group (nobody even had relics, just Garuda / Ifrit weapons) and we downed him first try with no practice run. It wasn't more satisfying because I died 30+ times, just wished I found smarter people sooner.
This. As a tank that knows the fight by now but keeps wiping due to bad luck wit PUGs and no luck in FC runs, I'm getting reaaally tired of not being able to progress past this one hurdle when the rest of the game is easycakes to me thus far. I like a good challenge, but this is pushing it.
Yeah, I missed out on four days in a row of grinding tombs simply because I was fighting Titan every night with bad groups. It did not make me a better player what-so-ever since I didn't die unless it was suicide to restart the instance (because other people died) with the exception of my first run. I tried it once, got my butt handed to me (apologized to the group and promptly left) and read up / completely memorized the rotation. After that, every run was done to near perfection (by me, at least).
Well, maybe I'm a too hard-working player, but I enjoyed beating Yiazmat at lv60, so this is not so bad for me XD
That is why I canceled my subscription. I spent a whole week trying to kill Titan. I am not playing this game to get stressed out. I play a game to reduce my stress from overall life. This was the last thing preventing me from my relic and now I just don't care anymore. This game is not for me.
I'm a tank such latency doesn't hurt me on the fights, but boy do I see it. Everyone will stop for 2-3 seconds then resume, usually all across the map from where they were. I see people teleport out of the way of attacks, or completely dodge an attack then die nearly 5 meters from where the attack actually hit.
So far lag has caused 90% of my team wipes, by estimation. 10% are bad players.
I used to be like you, OP. I despised this fight. But then, I got my win and I realized that all those losses were actually fun to me. I look back on the fight and remember all the music and phase changes and what an experience it was. When that phase five music kicks in, it's a whole other feeling from any other fight in the game. Please, please keep at it. You'll get your win. :)
Nope, that is not how I felt with Hydra and Garuda once I beat them. After beating them it was a relief and looking back at them it reminds me of the horrible experience I had. Titan on the other hand is worse. It really frustrates me that I worked my butt off to be full DL and have Garuda weapon, and still loose for a whole week. As previously mentioned, I play games to reduce my stress, not to add to it. I am done with this. I also get stressed knowing that extreme mode is coming.
What I don't get is why people are pushing so hard on content, unless you're a progression raider who needs to unlock coil just take your time maybe sort out a dedicated Titan group on your server through a FC/LS and only run him a couple times a week so you don't burn out.
Do other things like lowbie dungeon fun runs, farm up outfits for the up coming vanity system, level other DoM/DoW or DoH/DoL
Have fun don't stress.
That's fine if you enjoy doing things like that, but it isn't really your place to tell people how they should play/enjoy the game. A lot of people just like finishing all aspects of the story and getting to (coil) endgame. This isn't limited to only people who are progression raiders. A lot of the things you named (lowbie dungeon runs, farming outfits for vanity) people don't find fun. To each their own.
