I'm dead serious. Who exactly here is having a laid back, chill and chirpy time? All this negativity and complaining makes it seem that a lot of people are not having a blast. So who exactly here can freely admit they are having fun in this game?

The lot of people that are having fun are either in game playing it, or stuck at work thinking about playing.
This forum is only for the bitter people having their own personal crusade against the game or people like me who thirst for their bitter tears.
I Absolutely love this game. I've played every class (and Bard job) on my main and I'm having a great time.
<--- This guy!
I don't know, i logged in yesterday and continued my relic quest by going through AK (for the first time) and also levelling my crafting class but soon i will be at the point where the rest of my guild is where they are just constantly farming CM every day trying to gear up to beat titan hm and prepare for coil. To be honest...everytime i'm asked if i want to do CM again I cringe and que up for a dungeon i havn't gone to yet, but once i've done everything else the only logical thing will be to farm that stupid dungeon everyone is farming multiple times a day and at that point I don't think i'm going to stick around.
i do. i usually post and lurk in this forums to gather information or tips from other players.
or if if i'm at the office..... like now. hehehe
yes, i am having fun. otherwise why would i even be in the game/forum in the first place. i remember saying it, ( not in the forums ), if you want to enjoy the game? and you know your responsibility? turn of that chat log ( seriously )
Yep. I play mainly with my friends/FC-mates and it's a blast, no matter what we're doing. I do DF pugs as little as possible, which may be related. But even in a bad pug...it can be rewarding to encourage new players and help them learn; you've just got to stand up to the jerks.
I am honestly having fun with the game.
This is because I want to have fun, and am taking my time. I've finished getting most of my crafts to 50, and had so much fun crafting my af for each class. I've got all my war and magic classes around the 20 mark. I'm ignoring the 50 monk that I had from 1.0 and going through the storyline at a snail's pace as Gladiator.
I switch classes to do quests as I wander around the areas and farm. I join in FATE's that I run across, and I save every gil I can for housing to come. I've crafted gear for friends and strangers, and run some dungeons with ls mates and my husband.
So, yeah, I'm having fun!
If having fun playing FFXIV ARR is wrong, I don't wanna be right, because I am SO wrong right now...
I'm loving it! Anticipating the additional content. I've surprised myself with a love of fishing....
Titan was a bit of a ...hmmm... frustration, if I put it politely without swearing. So far I don't particularly relish going back in for that fight after eventually getting the win :3 Just doing dungeons as when I feel like it, going at my own pace with those. The only thing I feel compelled to do is AK to cap myth each week.
No the game has easy very repetative content that is just stale after the 20th time. All the bosses in the game do the same attack order every time you fight them so if you know that order bosses and dungeons are easy they should add some randomness to the fights. Instead of square just taking material from other mmo games that go f2p they should take some material from ff11.
ME! I am having a blast! IRL stuff has really put a limit on my current game time, which makes me appreciate the time I have with the game even more. I do not have the time to care if people are fate grinding, or if people are n00bs or elitist. I am playing the game at my own pace and not worrying about what everyone else is doing.
I just joined a Grand Company last night (IMMORTAL FLAMES) and I am very excited to work my way up the ranks!
I have read various horror stories on these forums, I have run into a few jerks, but I do not let them ruin my experience. Overall the people on Coeurl server are very friendly and eager to help.
People need to just sit back, RELAX, and play the game. It is not perfect, but if you are not actively looking for things to complain about and have a bit of patience, it is pretty great.
If I did have one thing to complain about it is my personal lack of time! Though, it also seems as though some people have way too much time on their hands and therefore take all the positive things in this game for granted. Maybe I should be grateful I started the game appreciating every minute I was able to play.
Yes. I am. Having a blast playing FF XIV ARR and lurking on the forums hoping to fill my cup up with the tears of whining people. I can't have my cheese without some whine. >:3
I look forward to logging in everyday after work, so I'd say I'm enjoying it. There's always something for me to do, whether it's running dungeons, crafting, gathering or leveling a different battle class.
Fun, especially with awesome friends of mine and the few good people I've met on my server :)
I must admit, I love the posts where people complain that they are being forced to play with other people.
…in and MMO.
I'm having fun, but you already knew that. *wink
I came into 2.0 with every class 50 and still enjoy it every single day
I made a bunch of money spirit bonding lvl 49 accessories while grinding out tomes and I'm spending it all on leveling up crafts now. I'm having a blast crafting, way more fun than I ever had grinding anything on a battle class. The crafting system is fun to mess with. Oh, I'm sure I'll burn myself out on it sooner or later, but until then, it's about as laid back as you get, and pretty damn fun besides.
Aye ,right here!
Sure there are problems. My favourite job is a lil gimped and ive burnt myself out on crafting and gathering but im still enjoying running stuff and playing. the community can be a drag at times. But im assuming thats about to clear up as subs start rolling and the haters leave. (Not that there's anythign wrong about hating the game, each to their own. just understand people either may not agree or may not care what you think).
I'm loving it! We beat Titan HM for the first time last night with all FC/LS (We've built up alliances with quite a few FC's through a LS). We're all pretty chill and laid back and after all of the attempts on Titan, we came in last night focused up (still laughing and having fun) and downed Titan in 5 attempts... EVERYONE was cheering in Mumble everyone was happy, excited a big wall in the progression series was demolished. One of our healers even popped open a bottle of champagne! lol People just need to stop being so serious, remember a big chunk of content is missing right now (Crystal Tower) that's a big gap in gear between AK and Coil that's just MISSING. Won't have to Farm the DL gear for everything soon enough. Just chill, have some fun, and enjoy playing with your friends! :)
I'm having fun. Yesterday I discovered wineport for the first time, and I was amazed at how it actually has it's own look now, compared to the little hamlet it was in 1.0. In short, the feeling of exploration was a very good one. Besides that I actually do enjoy the combat - yeah, shoot me for it, go ahead! It's true. I have a character who's appearance actually meets my picky demands when it comes to character creation, and though it plays only rarely, I enjoy the soundtrack. La Noscea's in particular.
If there's one thing bringing my spirits down about this game, it's the forums in the state they are at the moment. I thought they were bad in 1.0, but man...
That's what got me thinking! I was hoping to hear some positive responses, and lo and behold, I did receive 'em! I enjoy the game, once again since I stepped down from acting as babysitter. I decided to do more things for my own self without hearing the constant complains about frivolous matters.
Yesterday I had fun just sitting and talking! Oh and practicing in Natalan, creating a storm of dead Ixali! That can't be anymore fun... can it? Well, yes it can. I actually do things super late at this point just due to the fact that it seems to be the most laid back of times, especially when you're an LS leader.
I love doing AK! I also love acting stupid in AK! As a tank, that is my sole given right to act stupid and try to make my friends die.
Also Terabyte, I can't stop laughing at your sig.
Ooops I qouted the wrong post. Im having a blast with the game.
Having loads of fun.
Leveling slowly, as many things as I can. Unlike the bads who rushed to 50 and are now whining endlessly.
Me me me! :)
The forums get negative, so mostly I come on to try and diffuse things from a different perspective. I don't really succeed and yeah, every now and again I get sucked into the negativity too, mostly because of the really problematic players out there that I run into occasionally. For awhile the spam got me too but now even when it happens I just blist and move on (and I clear out my blist every few days) . But thankfully the majority of the time I am just enjoying myself.
I spent the first few days of early access just mapping the realm across 4 of my characters, exploring every place I could safely go (and a lot I couldn't. hurrah for home points ;)).
Since I have done crafting, leves, leveling and experimenting with various classes, Talking to random NPC's. Doing a lot of dungeon runs, almost even decent on some of them now. Basically I am doing a bit of everything. Except playing the market board. No thank you. :D
Having so much fun that I halted gearing my monk. Got him to 50 with AR. Found out I needed to buy a crafted weapon for relic. Started crafting and determining what I really wanted to do in the game so I've decided to change my DoW/M main completely.
So crafting for now. Then when I'm ready my main will shoot to 50 in twinked crafted/melded gear and will let the end game raiding, pvp, high level crafting, and housing begin.
With proper uses of Leves and gathering xp books(from the GC's) you can fly on leveling.
Gatherers are definitely the hardest to level up imo. With the fate system and bonus XP to all DoW/M under your highest level DoW/M receiving 50% bonus xp there's no reason not to just use up all of those quests the first time through the game IMO. Using the Books on the Gatherers was still tough and in the 40s+ it takes I think over 10 leves to get a level which is a lot compared to the crafters who get the triple AND HQ hand ins.
I'm having an amazing time. With Ipsen Castle right by my side every party is actually an adventure. I'll gladly wait for my FC to take on Eorzea any day. If they are busy I'll gather, farm or craft to make some gil.
See you at the hot springs!
My brothers and I are having a blast in this game. Our work chat is only used to talk about what we will do in game when we get home tonight. We used to wake up early to exercise, now it's FFXIV time! (i guess i need to get back to the exercise part hehe)
I guess having someone you know IRL to play with you these kind of games makes the experience more worthwhile.
great time, run an amdapor once a day or so, do some alchemy, level an off class, go gather a bit, or sometimes hanging out because I get lazy. I am sure looking forward to 2.1 but I am at no shortage of things to do, may try get my war garuda weapon today.
I have noticed that everyone NOT having fun are those that maxed themselves out within the first month.
With that said, I have a friend of mine who is an avid gamer. Much more than myself. HE WILL NEVER PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION BASED GAME. Why? Because he is a cheapskate. He has done trial periods in games and always finds a reason why he doesn't like the game before he has to pay for it.
I'm not saying that everyone that dislikes the game just doesn't want to pay for it, but I will say that it is the majority.
And yes, everyone like me who is enjoying the game are in it, or at work wishing they were in it.
I have also learned that the faster I try to get to endgame (I did it so many times in WOW), that the less I got immersed in the game and didn't like the expansion. So there can be a lesson there too.
At work... wishing I was home playing QQ
I'm having a great time with the game, and I don't even have my first level 50 yet. I'm a pretty casual player on account of my job and being engaged to a non gamer. But I still get a couple of hours to play every now and then and its been a nice change of pace in comparison to my usual hardcore approach to past MMO games. It helps me to appreciate the little details of the world that much more and really enjoy my time in game.
Love/hate relationship at the moment.
I'm having a great time. I ignore the negativity and enjoy the game. You can either choose to be absorbed by the negativity or learn to ignore it and enjoy yourself. Someone is being elitist when asking for group members? Make your own group.
I'm having a ton of fun, even considering my main is in the grind phase of endgame where I'm told I'm supposed to be bored and angry.
I'm a PvE guy that wanted to raid. After the boring gearing up process that requires the farming of just two different dungeons. I now have my two healer classes maxed with all cross class skills, full DL and relics.
Now I'm just waiting for the weekly Coil... Next time I log in will be monday. But appart from raiding which is fun, the other part of raiding, which is the loot, is really non attractive when you know how stat points simply don't matter. I looted a 90 headpiece and I'm not even wearing it, it would improve my healing by 2 points... Calculations of some players show my Cure in full 90 gear would go from 950 to 980. Excuse me if I don't find this exciting.
So,am I having fun ? Nope, not anymore.
