Anyone elses heals messing up and healing themselves instead of their target?

My friend and I have experienced this both during turn 4 in coil. I use mouseover macros, he heals the normal way without macros.

We don't mash our buttons and my target goes on mouseover, and if nothings mouse overed then the target will receive the heal instead. But for some reason the heal will go on me instead. This has caused us a couple of wipes because it happens a couple of turns each attempt and it's pretty frustrating because it shouldn't happen at all.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Has anyone found a solution to it?

I'll be posting an example of what I mean when I've finished raiding later on.

Maybe the mouse-over target is out of range of not in sight, it happened few time on me as well and I never use <mo> heal since then...

I encounter this mostly after I raise someone. I can't heal them until the move or initiate an action. Pretty stupid to have that long a delay . They need to increase the amount of health people revive with or allow me to heal as soon as the corpse is off the ground.

happened a few times and i just put it down to bad connections or something, not nearly as often as you seem to get but it does make you look stupid when someones taking big dmg and you cure yourself :)

if you're targeting the tank, and then tab over, whilst still targetting the tank, i know it will heal u, instead of the tank.

if the players corpse raises up, and you start the cast, and they regain HP from raise mid cast, the cure will go to you.

and if anything is blocking the player, it will heal u, instead of saying "nope".

I know of another scenario that happens, when u target the tank, and then target someone else, then decide to retarget the tank, it will heal you, but its hard to explain in text.

There's a few ways to work around it, apparently the client doesn't update where your mouse is if you don't move it for a few seconds.
If you move your mouse just a little every 2-3 casts everything will be fine. I just pull my mouse down to the next member and back up during my casttime and it doesn't fail.
Also if your <mo> target is out of range or out of line of sight and you have a <t> macro as the next line it will heal yourself, so just keep an eye out on the battlefield to see where the person you're trying to heal is at.

I use just the <mo> macro, and this only happens when my tank dies when my cast is in the middle, so when when it goes of it goes to me, instead of the stinky corpse on the floor. =´(

Caused a wipe when fighting Caduceus, I don't use <mo> though, I just lost my target out of the blue, healed myself and suddenly it was all over.

No it happens when you don't use macros too. It's not just the mouseovers its actually targeting someone and healing them too.

Yeah, it definitely should never happen when you've got someone targeted but it does. It's so stupid!

The problem with mo is there is no feedback from the server to tell you you've tagged the guy. I'm used to clicking the party list to heal (used to use F1-F5 in FFXI) and it's more precise. i don't want to let a pixel or lag ruin my day.

Yeah... does it also do this if target goes out of range or LoS after you start cast?

Seems like it does... like you lose your target and hit yourself. Not sure, though.

Because the macro only check once....
If u accidently pointing at a mob or object, ur macro will fail and end up healing urself with or without <t> line in between..
It could be any object like doors or sometimes a rock that dont have HP and name..

Maybe I should just remove the part with the macro.

It happens even without using any form of macro. Also it cannot be los or out of range seeing as turn 4 is a small room. it just happens randomly.

I've found this happening A LOT with Leeches, but have noticed it with heals as well. I also use <mo> macros, but I'm not sure that would matter if you've got the auto-target self if target is unavailable (or however it's worded) option checked. I'm pretty sure the game checks if the target is available to heal, if they are not (because of range, obstructions, or w/ever) it will automatically target you.

I tried, but just to found out I have already addicted to it.Because it allows u to heal others without deselect tank. So if u want to heal tank,just move ur mouse away from names, instead of looking up in the table again. That's a huge improve of respond speed, especially when u have a crap geared tank in the party...

My suggestion is, put both macro and original into the bar, so u always has a way to guarantee delivery.
For my WHM, I keep the macro for Cure, but removed Cure II...SCH seems to have much more resistance to backup these kind of failure, because u can just let pet AI auto heal others or keep focus on tank...

Also, check ur system performance. If ur CPU load reaches 100%, try to turn off some physic effect or FXAA(minimum, but still helps) to lower it...
