Can someone tell me how to macro my fairy so when i cast physick it casts her embrace on the same target? I suck with macro's
There aren't any macro commands currently available for the pet. ><
It should be:
/macroicon "Physic"
/action "Embrace"
/action "Physic"
maybe with wait time before skills, but the embrace action is not recognized. It can be that
but if that is so, then it needs to be addressed immediately. Especially with the poor pet AI and unability to command it while casting.
To do this you need either a mouse or keyboard with macro features, then it is just as simple as making a macro that casts both spells with nearly no delay.
I just put embrace on my bar next to Physick and press it after my heal each time if big healing is needed, Physick>Embrace = WHM Cure II pretty much.
Actually Ive been doing it wrong the whole time ha, Physick stops you from using Embrace during GCD, but doing Embrace doesn't do the same to Physick, so do Embrace>Physick, and pet uses it's heal WHILE your's is casting, more effective =P.
Yes, I put embrace on the hotbar and use either Embrace > Physick or Embrace >Adlo
It's a super mana cheap bigger heal... pretty awesome. Macros would be better, though. You could turn your physick into free cure 2 and Adlo into free Cure 2 +
Yeah - to make it more irritating, if you use Embrace, the Faery will automatically go into Guard and use all her cooldowns. To manually control both the Faery's Embrace and her cooldowns, you will need to do...
Embrace > Steady > Physick
I have Embrace hotkeyed to alt+q, steady to alt+w, and Physick to alt+e. I hold alt and roll through q, w, and e every cycle I want to heal. This can be an enormous pain, though, and I sometimes wonder if it's worth it. Once your Whispering Dawn is on cooldown, you don't really have to worry about it for the next 59 seconds.
It's funny OP, when I first thought about leveling the SCH, I had the same idea. I thought Embrace and Physick had higher potency than Cure II for cheaper what a deal ! Well nope, not so epic.
So far the fairy mechanics are a huge letdown.
The AI is terrible with CDs that it uses pretty much on CD which is terrible.
It doesn't use Fey Light on CD it's like they hit the release date and said ''well fuck it, we will include that skill to the AI next patch''
We can't macro ANY skill of the pet...
We can't have 100% control of the pet to use the Scholar to it's full potential.
Embrace has a recast of 3 seconds vs 2.5 for your own heals which is a pretty big deal in Coil where the difficulty for healers is pretty much insane tank damage.
Overall, it's sad. I really like the class, but it can't be used to it's full potential because it's clearly unfinished.
The best way i have seen to get my fairie to heal who i need and want it to is to actually target them and set the pet skill to shift+e that is the only way i have gotten the fairie to heal who i want when i want
You can Hardware macro the abilities and stance.
Requirements:
Any Hardware macro enabled device. G series Logitech peripherals, Razer products. The keybinds are doen through the special software provided by the company.
Here is an example:
Desired Macro:
/micon Embrace
/ac Embrace <mo>
/ac Embrace <t>
/Recasted Embrace (Shows CD timer for the ability on your chat that only you can see)
Keybind Ex. 1: Keybind Embrace = W
Keybind Ex. 2: Targeting Macro = shift + ] (to keep it out of reach with regular hand strokes since we will not be actually pressing this key)
Create desired Target Macro.
Hardware Keybind Macro key 1: W --> Shift +]
MAGIC HAS HAPPENED
It is a design issue but for people that already have the hardware this is a perfect way to bypass the issue. If some one has the money and is will to buy the hardware to make this possible then power to them.
SE's pet AI and management looks like it was slopped together by some new guy that was not allowed to touch anything else .
Anyways hope this solves the issue most are having and hopefully they fix it soon.
To Krylogic (can't quote your post, exceed 1000 characters )
I don't get that.
What do you mean by "Desired Macro" ???
and we cannot macro our Pet ability then how can you use " <mo>, <t>" ??
and actually you do not need a device that provides with special software,
there's a 3rd-party macro software that can do the same
BUT! isn't against the rules ? (even the "special software that comes with special device" is counted as 3rd-party program)
The way I understand the Terms of Service is that the only 3rd party software that is against the rules is that which manipulates the environment, changes the way the mechanics of the game are intended to work, exploits a glitch in the programming, or negatively impacts the community. Fishing bots, farming bots, gil or item "duping", and "teleport" hacks used to move instantaneously from one place to another in a field would be examples. Things like parsers that access game data but don't manipulate it are okay. As are things like programmable hardware devices, as long as you aren't using it to do something that violates the ToS.
"Desired Macro" - Stands for the pet ability macro that you are trying to create.
You cannot make it just like I put it in the post thus why you must hardware macro the ability.
Yes you can use a third party program to macro your keys. Depending on what you are comfortable using.
Shields977 is correct.
Updated my original post so it can be easier to understand:
changed the "desired macro" on "Keybind Ex. 2:" to "targeting macro" to better portray the process and posted a targeting macro that will work with the example.
I am having issues with this.
While I can do the Embrace + Physick macro correctly using Razer Synapse, it seems I CANNOT properly macro the pet stance.
I mean, I can, but it's no use - in the fraction of a second between the end of the cast and the macro pressing the "Steady" stance, the fair will blow all cooldowns.
How can I stop this from happening?
Damn.
timing the macro perfectly is pretty much impossible due to latency, and even in 1ms the idiot fairy will just blow every skill she has.
Also, I have to time it with my Physick and Adlo casts because I can't press Steady when I am casting something.
Seriously...
I've come to think that this is somewhat by design.
I don't think SE really wants us manually using every embrace (or embrace at all really).
Sure, it would be nice if they let us, but, there is actually a pretty soild work around: Fairy placement.
Your fairy has a short auto cast range for party members at a bout half her max cast range (will auto cast on you at max range though).
So place your fairy accordingly. Eos has a pretty solid reaction time for casting embrace on targets, so keep her near only those targets you want her healing and she will heal them when ever you would other wise tell her too.
For titan: Leave her on follow and keep yoruself near the middle.
AK: Place in side ark of boss (will heal tank and any mele, ranged shoudln't need her help)
CM: Auto follow and keep near tanks and dds. (There is no boss aoe that isnt' easy to avoid)
Coil 1: Place in side arc on side bards aren't bringing slimes in on.
Coil 2: Auto follow with you in the front middle position will hit tanks ( a little vague, lots of different strats being used for this fight so, YMMV)
I haven't personally healed 4, so idk, my bff jill, but having tanked it I feel there are viable options.
TL, DR: Place command IS your manual targeting of embrace command.
Embrace is not the issue tho. Dawn, Covenant and Illumination are.
Thre is no difficulty with using these skills manually under teh current system. Simply use it, tap steady and proceed. Given their long cool downs its not at all difficult to deal with. The only problem arises when people are trying to manual cast embrace while preventing these other skills from being used, which is nearly umpossible. But, as stated above, is never necessary.
I think the thing that bugs me the most about scholar is Selene.
It is obvious Selene is desiged to have a simple, easy, no hassle buff rotation.
Fairy Glow is 30 sec with 60 sec cooldown. Cannot be up with Fairy Light.
Fairy Light is 30 sec with 60 sec cooldown. Cannot be used with Fairy Glow.
Clearly the fairy should be using glow and then when glow ends use light. When light ends it should use glow.
Really simple and effective buff rotation. You always have a buff going, just swaps between skill and spell speed.
What does the Fairy do?
Only cast Glow, never light. If you force it to cast light, it will auto over write it with glow.
You have to babysit this buff rotation because the fairy only casts glow and will cast the instant it is up.
This is such a simple fix. Yet in order to use Selence's light buff, you have to baby sit her.
This drives me insane. Unlike Eos, there shouldn't be a need to manage Selene. A simple rotation is all that is needed.
