Different Race Relationships

This is mostly a thread for player discussion on relationships that involve different races or same race different clan.

I personally can see all of them working....just not, the lalafells. (lalafell with a Roegadyn hmm.)

This topic got me interested when I noticed a reference to a male Midlander Hyur and a Female Sea Wolf Roegadyn in Aleport - as the Female Miqo’te put it "They was ruttin' like rabbits!"

I can't imagine any lalafell working with any other race however.

Well, Momodi in the Quicksand is always going on about measuring the size of 'manhoods', so presumably she's had relationships with guys of all races. ;)

Besides, it's fantasy, don't read too much into it - not if you value your sanity that is. ;)

Maybe if it were a lalafell male and female roe...awkward but it could work...but a female lala and male roe? That thought terrifies me to no end.

Then again in any game or story, I like cross-race couples, the ones that shouldnt be (though usually due to culture) but make it work anyway. I sometimes wonder if there could be hybrid children, the races might all be humanoid but are they biologically compatible enough to reproduce? In XI (different races obviously but they were similar) there was of course an elvaan x hume girl, so I would expect elezen and hyur crossbreeds could happen. What about roe and miqo'te, can they mix with the other races? I think lalafell is too different to mix, miqo'te possible, but then again, they're already a cross between humans and cats..and I regret just putting it like that :s

As far as the Elvaan and hume reference go; in DnD they have half elves so, yeah. It's all possible.


I can't imagine a female lalafell seducing another race other than their own. (they are just too cute!)

There was a quest in, think it was Moraby Drydocks or something, where you have to gather scattered lunch for a female lalafell, when you go to a male roegadyn who's picked one of the lunches, he'll say something like he was worried for a moment that the lala had a crush on him and that he likes his women "few feet taller, few ounzes heavier and few shades bluer, if you know what I mean, gwahaha" or somesuch. :D

Also, my fem roe is planning on marrying a dashing male lala with the most amazing moustache.

Well, Ul'Dah IS the City of Sin and Debauchery (one of its many names). Debauchery is effectively another name for lust, so one could say that Thancred's attitude fits right in, simply because he's a goddamned womanizer (in fact, I seem to recall both Hamon and Aldis sharing the same damn trait with almost the same degree of shamelessness).

The only reason we don't see Lalafells having relations with other races is because they look like children, and the West has this whole "Pedophilia/Lolicon is the work of Satan, it must be banned because Jesus said so" going for it. I'm not sure how this is seen in Japan, but given how much Loli content they produce on a seemingly regular basis, I'd think they're more open to it in the fictional setting.
