Question on the two different subscriptions

I apologize in advance if this sounds like a very silly question, but it keeps tormenting me.

What's the reason why one should opt for the standard subscription instead of the entry one? Aren't 8 characters, 1 per server, a lot already? I personally made two extra characters, one for each region, but it was more like for testing. The one in Japan just to play a bit when the MA/EU servers were down. I believe one character takes off an incredible amount of time already. Are we going to get any other extra with the standard subscription??

Apart from the number of characters you can create there is no real difference between the standard and entry subscription. The entry is an less expensive alternative for people who don't see the need to create more than one character since one character can be every class. The standard subscription is for people who like to play alternative characters on the same server.
One difference is that entry subscription only has a 30 day subscription option while the standard subscription has 30,90,180 day subscription options. So you get veteran rewards earlier than with the entry subscription where you have to wait 3 month before getting the 90 day reward.

Ok, thanks. I still have to understand the need to play more than one character per server, apart from using a different race. With the fact that after lvl 15 we can use any class. Oh well, I suppose the story would change a bit, at least before lvl 15-20. I guess I will be fine with the entry subscription, then, Unless I want to subscribe for 90 day, at that point they should cost about the same.

Reasons for 2nd+ character

The main story is slightly different at the beginning for each city.
Extra retainers.
Levelling one character will pretty much wipe out all the post 20 quests so unless you want to Fate grind with 9 classes, starting a new one can be easier.

While this is true, because of jobs, doing it all on one character is still more efficient even without quests.

Or sometimes you just get tired of looking at your character and need to try something different.

I could be wrong but I believe the Entry Subscription is a non-renewing plan when it runs out, you're not automatically billed again.

That is true indeed, but we still have access to 7 additional characters in 7 different servers. Anyway I just received an email today about this which shows the rewards we get depending on the subscription length (and type, I suppose?). What I do not understand is that for each length (30/60/90 days) there are two different kinds of rewards. One is the ability to change (only once!) the character appearance. And I want it, while my 11 years old niece called Momodi beautiful she thinks my character (the one in the avatar. And no, without mask) is ugly. very upsetting! :D

1. No - same for any type of sub.
2. If you sub for 90 days you'll get all 6 rewards indeed and the same for 60 days - you'll get first 4.

Ok, thanks, so it is 2 for each month. That wasn't much clear. Do you think they are going to be the same on the next few months?

Yes - there is already next reward (tier 4) in pipeline for 180 days (you'll actually see that as "rewarded" in Mogstation if you sub for 180+ days) however the details of the actuall rewards are uknown yet - should be appllied / added with 2.1 patch.
