WHM: Relic+1 vs AF2

There was another thread recently about Scholar, but wasn't sure if it differed from WHM at all (since their relic has spell haste and SCHs like Crit). Anyways.

Would it be best to get WHM Relic+1 (for more healing output) or AF2 body (for more survivability)? My Coils group is up to Turn 4 currently, and it'd be kinda annoying if the healing body dropped somewhere after just buying the AF2 one... But... I'm undecided. I see a lot of WHM AF2 bodies walking around though.

Any thoughts would be great, thanks. :)

Tanks face the same problem, but, you must remember that moving to a body/head upgrade out of darklight will leave you wearing an underpowered head piece untill you can afford to buy it as well. Also, as you said, there is the chance to get allagan gear, where as it is rather unlikely you will be getting the allagan weapon next week (Since no one will, odds are).

Whm benefits from all secondary stats so just get as many ilvl90 peices as possible. Look at what drops in coil and spend your myth on things that wont drop.

E.g allagans healing pants and and weapon drops from turn 5 so you should probally buy af+1 pants and relic+1

For sch they want to avoid wasting points on spell speed due to how the stat can punish them and how lustrate and faerie does not benefit from it. Sch crit is a catch all since it boosts output and spell speed too.

Thanks a lot for your reply. :) I was leaning toward the Relic+1 for the very reasons you listed, but I see a ton of AF2 bodies on WHM on my server, so I wasn't sure if I was missing something. lol

Relic +1 is the biggest upgrade to your healing which you should be getting first. Not to mention the allagan equivalent drops from twintania which has not even beaten yet.

Healing body drops from coil 4 which you should get a shot at every week.

From what I've noticed, I think a lot of AF2 bodies were bought by people who had the poitns to spend but hadn't yet be in groups that could clear titan. Besides, glowing relix are just awesome. Almost makes me sad that all my other relix will never/not for a long time glow.

Relic +1 all the way. Many people bought the chest and made a big mistake.

Even if I was certain of my decision, I tested it on a random guy with all DL except for AF2 chest, obviously AK head and AK ring. His Cure I were pathetic, around 910 while mine are around 950. Weapon damage, even if it's just a 3 point difference between the Relic and the +1 is the best upgrade you can get.

If you think a small boost in the heal is worth more than more defense then by all means, go ahead and get Relic+1.
The AF2 chest is better than the Allagan chest, the Cleric chest gives you spell speed instead of Determination which the Allagan one gives.

Sebyos, 910 heals vs 950 heals isn't pathetic. Keep in mind that he's able to take a bit more damage than you because of that, a dead healer is a worthless healer.
I personally went for the AF2 chest and the AF2 head, I will be getting the Relic+1 next though since it's now the biggest upgrade for me.

For a DPS, the relic +1 might be worth going for first, but it's questionable if the same goes for healers and tanks.

I personally went for af2 body over +1 my relic. But it was for full cosmetic reasons only.

I can't stand the cowls. Plus I had just enough left over to where when I cap I can get the circlet the following week. I'll probably save up for my weapon now. I just love my af2 body though.

First of all, the small boost in healing is bigger than the tiny defence boost. You obviously just didn't even bother to check the numbers before talking. The 90 chest has 62 defence and then you are stuck with a AK headpiece, but even if you had a 90 headpiece, the total would only be 106 compared to 98 for the chest.

Now as for the spell speed and determination, I think you haven't checked either. The AF2 chest gives 24 spellspeed and 39 total with a 90 headpiece. To test the effect of such a gain, I removed 3 DL accessories worth 27 spellspeed and my AK ring for a total of 38 spellspeed and it changed my cast time by 0.03 seconds. Now I'm not saying it's better or worse than determination. First because we don't have actual numbers for determination and two, because it's probably a very small difference like spellspeed.
