Grand Company questions

If you join another Grand Company , do you lose your ranks from your old one?

Also, The merchant shows other ranks up above the highest ranks you can get. how do you open them up?

I'm not sure how switching Companies handles your rank; I've never done it.

Ranks above 2nd Lieutenant haven't been released yet. They'll be in future updates. When they first introduced the Grand Companies in 1.x, the highest rank you could get was Sergeant Third Class.

Addendum: I had misremembered; Sgt 3rd class was the cap when I first joined a GC, but I was inactive when GCs were introduced. On introduction, the cap was Pvt 3rd class (i.e., you couldn't get promoted at all after being formally inducted into a GC).
