Looting rules.
Here's my suggestion:
Level 50 job item: Need to be at least lvl 40 of said job to be able to greed.
Level 40 job item: Need to be at least lvl 30 of said job to be able to greed.
..and so on.
I think it'd be a righteous privilege to only be able to greed on an item if you can actually use it, or use it in the near future. If everyone passes the item (when not being able to greed), then it'd be distributed randomly for those who want it purely out of greed regardless of what level they are. Those who are playing that job and need it, will still be the only ones being able to need them, which is good.
I am playing and gearing up each and every of my jobs with whatever equipment I can get for them. It's sad that I have to compete against these people who have that item job at lvl 1 and who will possibly never even use the items which I could put to good use when I already have the class leveled high enough to use the said items. Surely you can exchange the items for company seals, but the amount of seals you get per item is so little that you can get more seals by participating in 1 FATE, so it's a waste anyways.
You can call me selfish, but I think going through the trouble to level these jobs to a certain level has to have a higher right to loot an item over those who haven't even got the jobs unlocked.
-
People turn in gear to FC for seals also, so I don't think this would work, if you can need then need, if not then its luck I'm afraid and you dont' deserve it any more than anyone else.
This is coming from someone who has all jobs as 50.
-
I dont see a problem with the need/greed system as is.
Need means you can use it.
Greed means you want it.
not rocket science here.
-
If there is something for your alt class you want and no class of that type in the instance, kindly ask if you can have the items should they appear. Certainly there will be people who disagree, but I've been in a couple dungeons where people ask this and most times the others have no problem with it.
-
I was thinking maybe something like a system that is Need, Greed(50), Greed, Pass?
-
Well I'm doing runs right now for a level 44 dungeon to get gear for the future vanity system......silly yea but it gives me exp and I want it. I greed so what? If someone needs it...well then they'll need.
-
It's called greed for a reason.
-
the difference being that people still NEED on an item even though they don't NEED it. they NEED on items that aren't actually upgrades just because they can.
why does a PUG deserve to roll on some item he will .not. use and just trash for seals when someone else in the group may in fact be leveling up a pug right now?
why should said pug have more rights to exchanging the unneeded (!) gear for seals than the rest of the group just because he can?
it does not check if people actually NEED it, it just checks if they have the same class as the item.
we should be adult enough to not be babysat for everything. SE doesn't want people to 'ninja' gear that they can't use (though they can ask if they are allowed to need if it's possible - in other games)
but at the same time they DON'T allow us to blacklist idiots or force us to keep quests in our tracker forever if we don't do them right away, won't do anything against dungeon leecher and all that junk...
-
If you want gear for an alt Job, why not just ... *gasp* run the required dungeon on that Job since you have it leveled, and then you can use the NEED button!
-
I'd love some in-game loot options other than the default.
I don't think it's very high priority though, and most likely won't ever happen.
