Spirit Bonding High Level Crafting

So, a few things here.

1) How the hell do you create Tier 4 crafting materia when the highest gear for crafters is iLV 55?

2) What exactly is the trick to spirit bonding on a craft? So far it looks to me like spamming the cheapest material possible that will still grant EXP. However I'm at a loss atm as to what to use on my newly minted 50 Alchemist.

3) About what recipe level is the bare minimum for EXP gains using quick synthesis @ 50?

Eh, I didn't think I'd even try farming spiritbond with ilvl 55 items. That's a lot of work and crafting. I can't remember but can't you sometimes get the T5 materia from level 45 items too?

The easiest way to spirit bond crafting gear is to buy the level 48+ all classes crafting gear, equip it on a DoW or DoM class, and go fate farm, trash farm, or straight up mob grind. Spiritbonding crafting gear with crafts is going to cost a lot and take longer imo. As far as T4 materia goes, I think you have to convert gear with an iLevel higher than 50 to make it.

Wow, thanks! Yes, I was wondering what to do because atm I'm agonizing over how to SB my AF boots I got from the quest and an HQ Mortar I made, but I guess I'll just sell those and make the 48+ gear.


Does HQ'ing items make any difference when spirit bonding? And what would you suggest, btw for farming? I have WAR & PLD @ 50.

I believe HQ items spiritbond 20% or 25% faster than NQ.

But no benefits when being converted?

Does that give T4?

T4 isn't even guaranteed off of iLvl55 gear... I did this yesterday.

HQ gear seems to spirit bond faster. I'd recommend getting 2 Aetherite rings since they have +spirit bind on them, also look into getting a Gambler's crown, that has +1 spirit bond rate on it as well and it is relatively easy to obtain if you meld a piece of gear with t1 materia. As far as grinding mobs goes, I'd go with warrior, you can probably churn through monsters faster with war than with PLD. You could build a spirit bind party and go aoe mob farm on lvl 49 monsters as well. It seems that solo mob grinding is a really slow way to spiritbind. Fate parties work well too, but you don't get spirit bond from the exp that fate's give, just from mob exp. So you'd want to join fate parties in areas that have a lot of fate mobs to kill. Nah, you're just guaranteed a t3 materia from gear thats level 48+. After that, the t4 rate is based on the item level of the gear I think. My guess is that you're more likely to get a t4 materia out of gear with a higher ilevel, but I havent converted any gear like that to test it myself. I'll stick to producing t3 materia until the market tanks on those :)

From what I've read, T4 starts at 60+ as far as guaranteed conversions. Tier V must be in the dats for the eventual level cap increase.

I've already got a Gambler's Crown, Meteor Survivor Ring & Patriot Choker/Wristband.
