I can't hear any audio speech from Quest givers?

Hi, I have played this game for several hours and I still cannot hear any audio voices from Quest givers in the game? All I see is very small in game text which I constantly click on to get to what I'm suppose to be doing on my offered quest. Am I suppose to go into into OPTIONS and click on something ? Also when I am fighting small beasts I don't hear any grunts, moans or growls or whatever? It is like I'm playing a silent game with just the sound of music in the background. I await your reply.thanks

they should be on by default... will actually have to load the game to look into it. If it's in there, it should be under either the System or Character settings menus. There was a panel for sound on one of them I think, just don't recall details because I didn't have to change anything.

It should be noted that the voice-overs are in very limited use--as in just in the main scenario missions, and even then it is very limited use.

you don't get audio voice over frm npc unless in specific cut scenes, so yes you have to read.

the sound you hear is, by default, based on the location of your camera i.e. if you zoom out really far, i don't think you can hear the grunts of the mobs. that said, my computer sometimes doesn't register the sound because it is kinda old.

yeah... under your system config menu, there is a panel for sound settings (speaker icon). There is a slider for camera position for positional audio. Move it all the way to the right for "Character" I guess?

Seems to have made a difference. I can hear the little Tarus laughing in the restaurant now. Oops... did it again. Can't get use to calling them Lallafel.

Otherwise, there may be something wonky with your sound driver. On my XP PC, the Xonar DX driver was behaving strangely until I "tricked" Windows into running it as 2 channel in the DirectX API, but have it set as 4 channel in the Xonar control panel with GX extensions turned on. Forget if I set it as 2CH in the Windows Sound options first, or the 4CH in the Asus control app first--but they both show different configurations now. ntil then, ALL voices (even the voice over in the intro video) was playing ONLY in the rear left channel. Somehow mixing the settings up made it work for all channels--and somehow positional audio is still fairly accurate.

I don't get an voice overs either, the opening cinematic didn't even have voice. My husband sits right by me & can watch a scene with voice & I have none on mine. Not sure what the issue is. I have submitted a bug report in game but of course never received any feedback from SE.

Only main scenario story cutscenes are voiced, and even then only about 40-50% of them. I hope they'll expand this, but it would be mostly useless since we'd only notice if we replayed them in our rooms.

This is actually consistent with pretty much all other MMORPG's. Only "important" storyline scenes are voiced, never NPC conversations. (Most other games I've played, the NPC's just have a "hi, nice to mmecha" generic greeting that isn't even in the text of the quest, which I find aggrivating because it just accentuates the fact the developers didn't give a care. Especially when every male NPC has the same greeting with the same voice.)
