Does Final Fantasy have one of the nicest MMO communities?

I've played every MMO since Dark Age of Camelot, and Final Fantasy in general has one of the nicest communities in the genre.

The massive community downgrade in general came with WoW, especially around TBC. An amazing game, top MMO, and deserves its crown, but it attracted a huge audience of people, and with that came a lot of stupidity in a genre based around community first and foremost. Everyone know the dreaded Barrens chat.

Since then I have felt that a lot of the newly MMO introduced WoW people have started to drift to flavour of the month MMOs, and it has shown itself in everything from Warhammer, to Aion, to Age of Conan, Rift, SW KOTOR etc

I think in about 6 months a lot of flavour of the month gamers will leave, and to some extent a huge amount of powerlevel gamers will drift to their next MMO. I think this game will be left with a fantastic community at level 50.

I personally noticed it to be one of the worst communities to be honest...

in 1.0? yes! 2.0? lol, no.

So far my experience has been 50/50

Naw, Eve does.

Just yesterday, I joined a CM run where the healer started insulting the tank. Mid run he decided to just stop healing and wait at the entrance till someone left. He refused to leave himself cause he didn't want the 15 minute penalty.

Another time I had a tank that just left a HM primal fight mid battle when everything was going fine. His last words? "Enjoy your queue noobs." He basically joined the run simply to screw DPS and Healers their queues over. This last example is something I actually see happen fairly often...

Another tank in AK. He refused to even try to keep agro. His reason? He had full darklight and a relic. He said we were lucky he even wanted to DPS for us keeping one mob off the healer.. When everyone but him died because of agro in a fight, and he finished the mob off on his own he kept going on "What's the problem noobs? I soloed this".

These behaviours are REALLY common unfortunately, at least in my experience :/

TERA NA was terrible during launch because of all the 4chan freaks and it's still are. FF had the misfortune of attract the same lot, aside from the usual nasty players. The damage is done and it might take a while until the freaks leave. But making it a better place is up to each of us, right?

Give it a couple of months. All the immature and rude kids will move to another game. And the usually final fantasy community will be left.

I must be lucky as I've yet run into anyone who was a 'bad apple' so to speak using the DF or anywhere else.. Shout channels are full of bots but when you blacklist those you can find some good conversations time to time.

Sorry that some of you have run into a few 'bad apples' during your adventures and it does suck that you use those to judge the entire community from it. But that is your choice I guess.
