Luminary tools vs 50 Quest tools

I just want to put it out there that I feel as if there should be a distinction between these. As someone who put in many hours and millions of gil into obtaining a number of luminary tools, I'd like to have something to show for my efforts aside from -1 inventory space. Having them be upgradeable would be nice. I would even be happy if we got golden work-stations or work-stations at all. I don't care how easy relics are to obtain, but it seems silly to introduce new copies of old things that are more fun/pleasing to the eye and also much easier to get.

I guess they could be a little bit better and not just vanity items. Perhaps +1 spitibond would be a nice addition to them and at the same time probably not too hard to implement either + it would actually make them more meaningul and something worth striving for.

I'm pretty sure it was said in one of the previous live letters that Luminary tools will upgrade to remain the best in future updates. I can't say this is definitely true and I wouldn't have a clue which letter to look at; but I'm almost positive it was mentioned somewhere.

And if I am mistaken then I agree profusely; you should not be able to quest a tool as good as Luminary if Luminary remains this hard to obtain.

I'd rather have an off hand for the Luminary reward.

Personally I prefer that the acheivements in this game are vanity rewards only, otherwise they would be much less optional. Also, luminary tools arent even close to being the worst offender in terms of effort vs reward. Can't fix just the luminary tools without going back and making all the others not useless too.

I personally think that using a Luminary and the oldschool work station looks way more badass than those new quest tools. Even though they are equal in stats, earning and using a luminary shows actual dedication to your craft.

I'm not sure why they got rid of the unique placement of all of the tools going on your back. I thought that made them stand out a bit better.

Luminary are just a thing they kept because the past designers had already put them in. By not changing the stats there basically saying, legacy players don't get an advantage for having them already and handed them to everyone through lv50 quest :) so it was a choice to help out all the new people with out taking away the vanity and status earned by a legacy player. I'm sure in the future when they raise the level cap during an exspansion they will not just hand out the BIS weapon since everyone would have had the time to be on the same playing field.
