Synths breaking a lot?

Today I logged on and decided to work on synths. The levequest ones were fine, but then I sat down to synth some actual items for myself. I'm rank 25 GS, and was going to white coral breastpins, and had +3/+2 coral to work with. I also had synth support and full crafting gear, so I figured piece of cake.

When it kept breaking horribly I mentioned it on my LS, and my friend said she's been having a lot of trouble with crafts lower than her breaking a bunch the last three days, and another LS member has been having trouble, too.

I'm well-aware of what the glowing balls mean and such, so it's not because I'm crafting while it's glowing all different colors. Is something going on?

Has happened to me as well. Maybe it's because Hatching Tide is near and the world is about to explode (which would be awesome, in retrospect).

Or maybe it's because crafting is based on RNG more than stats. We'll see, we'll see.

I thought it was strange because I can still seem to do the leves that are 5-ish levels higher than me fine, but I was breaking stuff my own level. When my friend said she's been having the same problem for the past few days (I hadn't logged in much) I was wondering if we were just having incredibly horrendous luck or if something is up. Seems weird for three people to all have horrible luck on stuff that should be simple.
