Regarding Gear checks

So this weekend ( or shortly after) my friends and I will be looking to start running the 50 dungeons and HM fights. I know that gear and such becomes an integral part of successful runs and want to be prepared to do the content instead of dragging people down.

Basically I'm looking for any helpful info as to what is acceptable gear for the dungeons and HM fights. I know it has been discussed in other complaint threads and such but even when I do a search it pops up a bunch of useless stuff.

Perhaps this will help others besides myself as well.

You can practically jump into Ifrit and Wanderer's Palace directly after finishing the main story. If you can get some gear from WP and use some of your philosophy tokens to get some Darklight accessories, you should be good enough to move onto Amdapor Keep. Once you have some gear out of there and some more darklight gear, you should be able to do Garuda and Titan.

do the company quest for a lvl 50 weapon, its realy good for a lvl 50 start. ifirt weapon is a luck drop, i saw many ppl killing ifrit 30+ times with no luck. Do CM runs they are easy depends on a group, with 2 tanks 2/healers 4 dps its almost free 100 tokens. You can get good starting gear from AK but its a bit hard for the start but possible, AK drops lvl 60 gear wich is good for a start. Remember CM is a story dungeon it was designed for ppl with low starting gear so its not that hard.

WP -- Fresh 50 OK
CM -- Fresh 50 OK
HM Ifrit -- Fresh 50 OK (but having some DL / WP gear would be nice)
AK -- WP & DL gear needed (a combination of 4 pieces should be fine) iLVL 50+ weapon required by all DPS
HM Garuda -- NO AF GEAR ALLOWED
HM Titan -- Complete DL set + Ifrit weapon at least

These are considered acceptable baseline loadouts to prevent yourself from being a burden on the group. I'm not saying that these loadouts are absolutely necessary to complete the dungeon, but they should be considered as guidelines for those wondering if they are geared enough for each instance.

Just go straight into AK with your Blue quest set+some decent accessories(grand company has some I believe). After you get carried through AK once you can get your lvl 55 green Grand Company weapon. That's plenty to start doing AK without needing to be carried (assuming you are a somewhat experienced mmo player). Spam AK or the final two story dungeons to get philosophy tokens. Once you have mostly darklight you can start your relic quest and do the titans in order. It would be nice to get garuda wep before titan, but not really required.

Probably because you are advocating getting carried as opposed to getting geared, which is what OP was asking about. The kind of mindset you are putting forth here is the same cancerous mindset which results in hundreds (if not thousands) of wipes every day in DF groups. "Why should I bother getting geared when I can just have other people carry me?". What a horrible philosophy. I bet you voted for Obama.
