In-game description of Convalescence is ambiguous
Let's look at the Gladiator skill Convalescence's description. The wording is too vague. It actually took some experimentation and comparison with French to understand how exactly the effect works.
English: Increases HP restored by spells or actions by 20%.
This tells us HP recovered is increased by 20% (30% with later trait), but doesn't tell us:
• Whose spells or actions it concerns
• Whose HP recovery is increased.
For all it's worth, the description could very well be understood in either of these ways:
• "Increases HP restored (to you) by spells or actions (cast on you) by 20%"
• "Increases HP restored (to your target) by spells or actions (cast by you) by 20%"
For a long time, I expected this to make my Cures restore 20% more HP while under its effect, and have tried using it to heal others with little results. I only later realised it worked the other way around and made it easier for others to cure me, sort of like a panic button.
The wording in French is a lot less ambiguous regarding whose HP's recovery it affects, but the wording makes no mentions of non-magic HP recovery skills (like Second Wind or Bloodbath):
French: Les effets de la magie curative sur vous sont 20% plus puissants.
Translates into: "Effects of healing magic used on you are improved by 20%"
This opens up another question, are skills also included in the elligible actions, or just healing magic?
For reference:
Japanese: 一定時間、自身が受ける回復魔法の効果を30%上昇させる。
効果時間:20秒
