Relic +1 vs. Chest AF2

So i got all darklight, except chest and head are hoplite. I got Bravura.

I got 900 myths as of very soon. Should i spend it on bravura +1, or on AF2 chest? what do people reckon

If you've got Hoplite Circlet, definitely AF2 chest. The only thing you'll get out of +1 over AF2 chest is faster skill speed and a pretty glow. Which is nice, and you should get, but I think priority should go to the better tanking gear since you're a tank and all.

But I wouldn't blame you if you picked +1. That glowing Bravura looks p. nice.

Well it's not really about the glow, although that makes it look less like a lvl 10 botany axe.

You do get str and vit upgrades too. I guess I should just do the math and see which gives more stats.

+1 Bravura vs Bravura = +4 STR & +5 VIT

Hoplite Circlet + AF2 Body vs Heavy Darklight Armor = +7 STR & +8 VIT

Edit: That said, you are using a different chest (possibly w/ materia) so it'd definitely be best if you did your own calcs.

What's the most important thing as a Tank? Yes DMG mitigation is important but holding threat is the most important. You are going to eventually run into players with their relic +1's, and guess what turns out they are constantly pulling agro away from you. The smart move for tanks would be to get their relic +1's first.

I tanked titan with my PLD with the grand company weapon vs DD's with Relics..

I never lost agro...


Tanks should not +1 their weapon.

yea, its not a matter of aggro thats in my decision at all....i guess i'll just see which upgrade gets me most stats.

af2 chest all the way

alright, upgrading from hoplite chest to af2 is about +15 on str and vit and +30 on parry.....that kinda makes it an easy decision....despite the cool glow...

This brings me to an interesting question. I've got my AF2 body for pld now. Do I save for the AF2 helm (upgrading from Hoplite), or upgrade the shield to +1 this week?

Starting in Coil this week once we get scheduling issues worked out, so its a tough call. I know Allagan Shield comes from Turn 1, and helm hasn't been reported yet afaik. Thoughts?
