Help out?
Okay, So I'm going with scholar. And I HATE the scholar class armour. So I'm looking to change it up. I know the class armour is "The best" But I'm curious..
Raising Weaver to 50 (or any crafting) If you craft a full set of 50 gear, with slots...and put Materia in it, Would it be a viable option over the regular class armour? I can't find an answer to this anywhere...not even in game :/

The Vanya set from weaving, with good materias, will be just as good (probably better) than the darklight gear. It's basically a time vs. money argument. Farming darklight will require lots of time. Getting Vanya's will require lots of money. If you hate the look of darklight that much Vanya's is definitely a viable option.

I guess I'm talking about the Artifact gear or what not? Is that the darklight stuff? The armour pieces that you get at different pieces as different levels? (The chest at 50)

The Artifact armor you get at 45/50 isn't the best. There's a second 'set' of Artifact gear at 50 you can buy for Mythology tomestones but that's not what your referring too. But yea either Darklight (From Philosohpy Tomestones) or the Vanya (Crafted) would both be a good upgrade from the base class armor you start with. It all comes down to what you like better.

There's also the militia set which, if HQd, is probably better than AF. It doesn't require any of those pesky tomestone items, but it is also inferior to Darklight. I don't know why no one ever mentions the militia gear...
-
I didn't mention it because I didn't know about it *nod* Only militia pieces I've seen have been either crafting or for the Melee oriented classes.

Vanya is extremely good, and will stay viable for a long while because getting full AF+1/Allagan takes a long while.
It's a worthwhile investment imo.

Thank you all :) My question was answered! I appreciate it
