Are they going to fix the dungeon timer? It should stop during the cut scene please.

Last night we were in a group and were running out of time. My static group of 3 usually skips the cut scenes because we really dont care about them and can always watch them later. So we skipped it so we would be ready asap for the fight but the 4th DF person was still in the cut scene but we noticed the count down was still going! I have no problem with people wanting to watch the cutscene, however the timer should stop until the mob is engaged or everyone is finished watching it. Since it was still rolling we had a moment of panic and started the fight, forgetting that the 4th would be locked out of the fight! needless to say we got him down to 25% and ran out of time, probably could have won if we had our mnk helping. This situation should never happen IMO. Even if we would have waited to engage we wouldn't have had time anyway.

if you are running out of time (even watching the cutscenes and some AFK breaks for bathroom/snack/drinks) they your group was not skilled or geared enough to be doing the content yet. The timers in my opinion should be shorter, make people actually learn there classes, how to play with others, and keep their gear up to date.

Reasonable gear + watch CS + people who know how to play there classes efficiently = never take much more than 1/2 the timer in any dungeon. Thus no need to extend the timer, not everything should be completed the first time with any PUG.

I didn't ask for a lesson on playing the game, or extending the timer. I'm not a moron I know we shouldn't run out of time, that wasn't my point. We had a horrible mnk kept getting us killed not attacking my marked target, taxing the whm mana etc. our group is fully up to snuff gear wise and skill wise, we mostly did it with the 3 of us, so you want to talk about skill? you try Stone vigil with a blm pld and whm only, we did a bang up job and still almost won. I'm getting tired of everyone thinking they know best an tell other groups they are not skilled enough to play when they have NO IDEA what they are talking about. So IMO you suck and should quit because you have no skill, there, how do you like them apples?

My point was this seems like a game flaw regardless of your opinion. Before you start handing out advice to someone about a situation you have no idea about, you might want to READ the OP and think twice.

Unless the missing person was a tank or healer there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to complete the whole instance with 3 people, way before time runs out.

Have yet to come near running low on a dungeon, and that includes the one time our tank disconnected, wasn't removed from the party for 15 minutes, then our healer left, then we had to wait half an hour for replacements. Still finished it with time to spare.

If you're running out of time, the cutscenes are not the issue.

OMG I know the timer shouldn't be a problem but in my group last night it was, and this CS bug could have been the difference in letting us win and the fact that now I have to spend another 90min of my already limited play time doing this dungeon again! Sometimes with the DF you are stuck with what you get, we honestly almost quit because the mnk was so bad, but we were trying to be nice and helpful to some one who clearly didn't know how to play very well, maybe if more people did this the DF pugs wouldn't be so bad.

Don't you think it shouldn't be possible to leave a person out of a fight because of an extended CS? Maybe put them past the line during the CS? I'm trying to be constructive here to make this game better for all!

OP, I agree.

Things happen....people DC or you join a party already in session and have to wait for it to fill up. Sure, it's only happened once or twice...but that doesn't change the fact that itt is common sense that if you can't do anything because someone want to watch the CS.... then the timer should not be running. Also, why give people more reasons to gripe about people that watch cutscenes.

If you are running out of time you have more problems than the cut-scenes. I have only run out of time in AK with fail groups, other than that I cant even think of one that was close.

There is no game flaw if the player fails that much you should leave. Why waste 2 hours so you can avoid a 15 min debuff.

Even in the worst groups until AK I never even came close to the timer running out.
