Just had 3 Oak Longbows @ 98% chance to HQ fail a HQ 3 times in a row -.-; Clearly it should say .000000000000000000000000098% chance.

Tonight, Carpenter's Gloves, 94% chance to HQ and it NQ'd. . . ; ;
Or reclaim failing 3 times in a row. I love SE's version of '90%'!
94% Chance to HQ: NQ
12% Chance to HQ: HQ

Ah, how the crafting system does love to troll the crafters...
Last night I was getting 350k xp per lv 40 leve and then 423k xp per lv 45 leve. O.o
Since I'm doing BSM, I just use my 50CRP/ARM to churn out HQ mats and its total win.
going up 1 level per leve - i don't even....
I only have ALC/CUL left and I was going to skip them but going 1-50 in two days if I have the leves seems pretty doable. Could use the cross class abilities too.
I checked my numbers after grinding out a stack of earrings to turn into a triple-leve. Hasty Touch + Steady Hand makes 70% success rate. After 7 successes I hit 100% quality with all normal conditions; I get 11 tries per craft. Essentially, I should HQ every craft if it runs by-the-numbers. Making just 6 lands me in high 80's/90's; 5 hits makes for about 40-50%. Of 40 crafts about one half were NQ. That's some awful luck.
Another WTF moment- during one of these sessions I got only 3 of 11 attempts, putting me about 6% HQ rate. Got the HQ. Makes up for the obscenity of a 27% success rate which is stated to be 70%.
Say what? I did lvl 40-45 leves on my goldsmither and weaver turnign in HQ items and most exp i got was in the 130K range iirc. Are you pulling these numbers by turning in 9 HQ on the leves that ask for three items and are willing to take more?
Please explain, i'm most interested.
Other types of WTF DoH moments (basically all user error):
-realizing you have GP gear instead of CP gear equipped, when you really could have used a few CP
-realizing you have a low level item you were trying to finish a spirit bond for some crappy materia, after you fail to HQ or complete an item
-forgetting how what you need to complete the progress of an item... i.e. you could have completed in the number of turns you expected IF you used craftsmanship food, or as a differnt DoH
-acidentally using a macro you designed for cheap easy items on something expensive and important
