SLi causing flickering with shadows and across land/road/sky

Hi,

I've been having this drama with flickering shadows as described. In town it's the worst, but outside you can see it across roads and distant sky.

The problem seems to be SLi - as when I run the game in window mode (disables SLi) the problem disappears :/ But I lose about half my framerate.

I'm using the latest nvidia drivers but the problem still exists.

Specs:
2 x Titans
16 gig
win 8
3770K @4.5
3 x monitors @ 5760x1080.

Surprised no one else has this drama - or is a known problem.

Im running two 670's SLI (got a second card last week) and the first two times I played in SLI mode I would get flickering in scene changes in cutscenes, and on some of the effects (spells, crafting, anything colourful) . Enough to be really annoying at certain times.
It happened twice. Then I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 8 and since then I haven't seen it again. Running at 1440p on High Desktop settings with newest drivers. I doubt it's Windows 8 that fixed it but certainly I did get the flickering as soon as I upgraded to SLI Ill let you know if it comes back.

Yes, I have the exact same issue and I can confirm it is SLI. The lighting effects will flicker. I've been waiting for a fix, but so far no acknowledgement from either SE or nvidia.

Running GTX680SLI and got zero problems since launch. No flickering lights, no problems with shadows, nothing.

Tried 326.80 & 327.24 drivers and both work (327.24 did give me one BSOD but has been OK since then). Running on Win8.

Suggest you try the latest WHQL (327.23) and make sure you tick "Clean Install".
Graphical problems in SLI mode can happen if the SLI bridge is not properly connected to the ports. For example, the connectors on my SLI bridge are slightly too big and tend to fall off if the case is rocked for some reason (just an example).

My drivers are always the latest, and this problem has existed ever since performance began to scale with SLI, with every driver revision. My SLI bridge is fine and SLI works properly in every other game I've ever tried. The only objects that have problems are those that use deferred rendering, so it is obviously a bug with how SLI is currently handling deferred rendering with the engine.

Every time there is an obvious and widespread problem with something, there are people who claim not to have it, even in cases where in reality, everyone has it. It is possible that you are either unobservant or not running the game properly in SLI mode (windowed or borderless windowed modes for example). The problem is only apparent in some areas.

I'm getting the random 'slow-motion' fps drops when running SLI, can't say i've noticed any flickering though. I stopped running in SLI once I ran my first dungeon. Every time the camera pans in the direction of a zone/portal icon (with the blue/white flashing lights), for which there are always some in dungeons, my fps goes into slow-motion. The problem is non-existent when running single gpu.

SLI is NOT fully supported by drivers yet, it has been 'implemented', but that's not really the same thing. I heard ATI finally got official driver support for CF in ffxiv...my hope is the nvidia and square have been working on proper support for us multi-gpu fiends.

I believe in the latest release notes for the new driver it's stated that running FFXIV in SLI is NOT RECOMMENDED.

Actually I just checked, it's for the 3D, not SLI. My bad.
