Item for Class Quest hand in Vanished

I'm doing my level 45 Goldsmithing Class Quest "The Fox in the Hen House". I crafted a HQ Amber, Spinel, and Zircon Electrum Circlet, showed them to the guildmaster, then talked to the city guard outside the Guild who informed me Rorotom is a suspect.

After this, I crafted a couple HQ Electrum Ingots, then went to give the Circlets to Rorotom. The quest marker, however, was red. I could not hand in the quest. The reason? I didn't have all three Circlets anymore. I only have the Zircon Circlet left. I checked my armory, triple checked my retainers and it is nowhere to be found. They just aren't there anymore.

This isn't the end of the world, but it is a major inconvenience. I lost 9 HQ Electrum Ingots, 3 HQ gems, and 78 Wind Shards and 15 Fire Shards because of this, and will have to use the same amount again to re-make them.
