So this seemed to start after the maintenance the other day, but the world map no longer has words on it (which makes it very difficult to figure out where I am going).

Are you too zoomed out on the map by chance? Tried zooming in some?
there's an option when you open the map up, it says something like show/hide names, maybe you pressed it by mistake.
