"No longer selling items in XYZ market", yet clearly I am. What's going on here?

I was excited to finally get access to selling items on the market through my new retainer, so I post a couple items for sale, including a green-quality pair of gloves. I then kicked back and talked in Free Company chat till I passed out and my character AFK-booted (Which is awesome BTW, TY for getting this done SE!) out of the game.

So when I logged in this morning I expected one or two of the things sold. I summoned my retainer and not knowing how I should collect my sale moneys exactly I pulled up my transaction history. The first thing that troubled me was the message: "You are no longer selling items in the Ul'dah markets" ... because clearly I was. My harness had sold, but my green gloves had yet to move.

So I'm selling a pair of gloves. But according to the grey status text, I'm not actually selling anything. What's going on here?

I'd like for the transaction sheet to show a bit more detail, like a list of items with a horizontal line drawn across the list. Items that haven't been sold yet could be in full color, and items below the line, that had been sold could be desaturated, or gray. Then I would like to have a list of what each item sold for, the market's pre-sale tax, and the price I listed it as.

Presently what I have is too little information and system messages that don't make any sense.

If you summon your retainer you arent selling anything for that time frame. Since your are basically editing your retainers setting. If its under the selling items tab in your retainer it will turn up at markets if you send her away.

It is a bit confusing the first time it happens, but that is normal behavior. Your retainer still has their full list of items for sale, but every time you call him/her away from selling, your retainer closes up shop for the short time you are visiting, allowing you to refresh you sales with new prices, or change the items for sale etc. Even if you are just there to store items not for sale on your retainer, he/she will still temporarily close up shop for you. The items they had been selling don't return to the retainer's inventory, they are still held in the for sale listing.

When you are finished interacting with your retainer, he/she will return to whichever city you designated them to sell in, with all of their for sale items back up on the markets. This allows you to check on your retainer if you happen to be in Limsa, for example, but had set them up to sell items in Gridania. The retainer will visit you at your current location, but returns to their previous location unless you instruct it to do otherwise.
