Wierdness today (20 Sept) in game performance

In my circles of friends playing today, lots of disconnects, lobby errors, game freezes, serious lag, a majority of NA/EU servers shutting down to character creation (from nearly all open to it this AM), etc.

With this being the first weekend after sales resumed, are we getting hammered again?

If you check the character creation status throughout the day you'll notice that most NA/EU worlds have no restrictions in place during non-NA/EU peak hours. Same thing happens with JP servers and non-JP peak times.

I'm guessing that SE is assuming that if someone wants to create a character at those times that they won't be playing at peak hours.
