Pets and companions continue attacking pacified enemies?

Whenever I have a levequest that requires me to pacify enemies, I notice that my summons and companion will continue attacking the enemy after it's been pacified, usually resulting in its death unless I notice in time to set my pet and companion to passive mode, but then I'm not able to use them for the rest of the levequest, because if I click on "guard" again, they'll go right back to attacking the pacified enemy they were attacking before.

Happened to me as well, I was doing leves at Verper Bay two days ago and the Chocobo killed the passified mobs even after I started fighting another one. It was just stuck in the mobs and will not leave them unless I dismissed it (wasting the gylsah greens) or the mob got killed.

I had the same problem but when I start to move away they normally stop attacking the pacified enemy. If I start to attack a different mob they definitely do so if you turn back to guard just before attacking the next mob you should be ok.

With companions you can't have Free Stand or Guard Stand. I always change them to Heal or to Stay during such quests or not call them if I check the quest description in advance.
