"Quality of Life" fixes.

I'm enjoying the game thus far, but as a long time MMO player, and nearly been tanking in MMOs for as long, there's a few things I notice that could help out a TON to make this game better than it currently is.

GENERAL
-NPC Interaction/Dismount
Currently, having to remember to get off our mount each time we want to speak to an NPC is silly. Either tell the NPCs to not be so sensitive about us sitting on a mount, looming over them, or auto-dismount us when speaking to them.

-Allow Tells in Duty
Kinda annoying having a convo with a friend, then blocked when in a Duty.

-Right Click Block/Ignore in chat
This is more or less a no brainer. Having to open the social menu to block a gil spammer is super frustrating.
((Tip for anyone currently being spammed in cities: Make a new tab, move Yell/Shout to that tab. You should now see less spam, and still have Yell/Shout available when looking for FATE groups. :) ))

-Retainer Access at Market
While not a huge deal, it perhaps would be useful to allow us to access our Retainers when at the Market Board itself. Instead of having to run back and forth to the bell.

-Character Limit on FORUM Posts
1000, really?

-Limit the Players, Not the NPCs
During some FATEs, the mobs will flicker in and out due to the mass amount of players. Please limit the amount of players on the screen instead of limiting the NPCs.
OR, allow us to keep our target selected if it does disappear, but is still in range.

TANKING
-PALADIN/GLADIATOR: Take Shield Swipe off Global Cooldown(GCD)
Add a cooldown to it that keeps you from using it for 6secs again after using it if you wish, but atm, it's very aggravating to try and use this properly. I like how it can be used as a interrupt for many attacks, and should really be treated as such. Meaning that it's apart from GCD.

-Cooldowns Should Not Need a GCD Free. They're COOLDOWNS.
There's been a number of times I've tried to use a CD to help reduce damage from an incoming attack, only to not be able to as I'm stuck on GCD from the last skill used. Granted, the cooldowns don't USE a GCD, but they need one to be used. They shouldn't be on GCD at all.

-Add a Scrolling Combat Text Message for Threat Loss.
I don't care about a threat meter, or anything of that sort. But just a text message that floats up over whichever mob we're about to lose threat on would be super helpful. Similar to the current damage and healing numbers on the screen.

-Movable Current Target Threat
I personally don't mind looking at the party menu constantly for the current threat levels. But I feel it'd be much better if at least my own level was in a separate movable UI window.


So, as you can see, not huge changes. Mostly just coding changes to skills or UI. Others may have their own ideas as well, and I don't mind adding to this post. But keep it to similar; Coding changes for Skills or UI, please.

You are moderately wrong here. What prevents you from starting the off-GCD skill is actually a sort of animation lock. Until a certain point of your current attack's animation you cannot use an off-GCD skill. Example that i'm used to is Phlebotomize, you need to wait for the full animation (that is about .8s long) to go through, whereas in Full Thrust you can use an ability at about the point you're at the apex of the jump (whereas in Vorpal Thrust you need to finish the horizontal swipe which takes about 2s).

I've been unable to use a CD right after using Fast Blade, which is a very fast animation, until my GCD is back up. So yes, they're locked to the GCD.
I can understand if I've used something with a long graphic, but not using a simple swing animation. =\

Believe me, one of my most powerful abilities has a long animation and is off-gcd I've acquired QUITE a lot of experience with that (it's Jump)
I know well that you can use your off-gcd abilities before the GCD finishes ticking although you will only have time for one. Fast Blade has a hilariously long animation, actually, not because of your swing time but because of the effect on the target, the animation cancel point on Fast Blade is not after the swing is done and your arm is outstretched but after it's closer to the body in a resting stance.

That may be the problem then. I was thinking the animation finished with the swing itself. Not the return to 'ready'. (Which does seem a bit odd overall though, as they should be logged as different animation cycles. Unless 'ready' doesn't have the snap-to set, and they've parented the animations... Sorry, rambling on. Graduated game animation student. o.o)
Then perhaps I should ask for them to separate animations instead of separating the CD's. =\ Just seems a bit counterproductive to me to have lockouts for CDs on animations that, truthfully, if they were done in real life would not lock someone out of countering or dodging. *shrugs* I'll eventually get to the point that I've memorized most timers... so it'll become a moot point at that time. lol
